More about The Bump

Now that I'm once again back on my BUMP obsession (thanks Kerry! , I was wondering whether or not you guys have posted on any of those boards?

I've thought about posting a bit, not on the TTC board (although I do stalk this one) since we aren't officially to that point yet. Perhaps a couple of the others though - baby names, babies on the brain, etc. I don't want to become the joke of the board though, you know, the girl that hangs around, posts a lot, who's not only not pregnant, but not trying until June 2012.

Thoughts?

Ahhh be careful! Make sure you lurk for at least a few days to a week before posting. There is a definite feel and etiquette to those boards. The botb board is harsh and cliquey. Dont post there yet! I'd say the only safe one is the baby names board. I am somewhat of a regular there and it's safe enough. Just make sure you lurk to understand what a you-neek name is, those are frowned upon there. I don't dare post anywhere else. They'd tear me apart since I'm not starting to TTC until next year. Otherwise, I'll see you there! Haha

I've posted on the TTGP board. I thought we were going to start trying soon (darn it!). Its not so bad. I got some flack from some ladies about trying before the wedding, but most of the ladies were welcoming. I mostly post in the GTKY threads. The baby names board would be a good one to start with. I was obsessed with that board for a while. I love how awful some of the names that come through are.

I have posted on the Bump a lot in the past (during my married days).  I was on BOTB and I love that board.  You do have to be careful what you say over there but the BOTB girls are awesome.  Definitely Google before you ask a questions!

The Eco-Friendly Family and IF were other boards I frequented.

That's totally what I was worried about. Okay, I think I'll start lurking a lot more and then begin posting (on the safe boards lol) a few months down the road. I'll wait for the BYOB until at least after the wedding and TTC until we're actually trying. I'll definitely be careful about Baby Names as well. All of it, I'm waiting until after the wedding. I'm too much of a chicken, not even going to lie.

Me too, when it comes to the TTGP & BOTB boards! I might intro on the TTGP board in a month or two though and just start posting. I'll just tell them I'm TTA until after the wedding, but I've started charting and I've read the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility", so it's not like I'm ignorant on the topic of TTC.

ETA: I love the snark on those boards, it's hilarious. I can't wait to be part of it. lol
