It might be too late for most of you, but someone on my local board posted this so I figured I'd pass it on.... I like the idea of getting those long, skinny post-it notes and using the different colors to help group by categories.

Ha, I already have this saved on pinterest and I bought the post-it notes at Office Max last weekend. I am totally ready to conquer this task

This is pretty much exactly what I did to figure out my seating chart, only I used index cards as my "tables." It made the process much easier than I had expected.

That's kind of how I'm doing it except I'm using paper plates instead.

I got pretty  lucky and most people natually fit into categories.  We did uneven tables though to make people comfortable. We have tables of 10, 9 and 8.

I bought the "iDo Wedding Planner" program for $18 from Hobby Lobby and it has been invaluable with planning.  I have all the contacts, invites, RSVPs, budget, etc. in one place, and it has a program to drag all the invites to each table.  SO easy.

Though I'm not tackling it for another few weeks - my mom is coming up two weeks before the wedding for a weekend visit and we're getting together with FI's mom to do the chart.
