March 2012 Weddings

Question and Checks!

I was wondering if anyone had a list of all the small things that need to get done. I've been obsessed with Style Me Pretty and Pinterest but now it has me a little worried that I am going to forget the small things. I know no one but myself will really notice. But.. id still like them done.

If anyone has a list, I would really appreciate it!

I've made some pretty awesome checks off my main list!
- Invites (A list, my OOT friends and family) were all addressed, sealed, and stamped and are off in the mail! They were mailed of early this morning!
- I picked up my dress and my first fitting is on Saturday!
- I found and bought my wedding shoes!
- I am in the process of buying my garter and bm jewlery today
- I also am in the process of buying embroidered hankercheifs for the parents and FI, which should be bought by Monday.
-I think I have my bridal jewlery, not 100% sure.

This weekend I plan on DIY my Menu Board and My Seating sign - We aren't doing a seating chart. But we are reserving a table for the Bride's Family, the WP and The Grooms Family. So I plan on making up those signs as well, and the favor sign and guest book sign. I'm also planning on ordering my mason jars, I'm just waiting to hear from the church on if they allow candles inside. I'd like to wrap lace around the mason jars and hang them from the pews with a candle inside. I might alternate betwen the pews and do flowers. Not exactly sure yet. We are going to get the Tux's reserved/picked out next week, as well as the limo. We've known we we are going to go with, we just need to go sign the contract. We also will be paying the remaining portions on the DJ and Cake next week! Exciting!!

Crazy to think that its barely 2 months away!!

Any one else have big accomplishments?!

Do you have an A and B wedding guest list?

I think everyone's list of the "small things" can vary depending on what you plan on having at your wedding. It sounds like you've got a lot of the big things done, which is good. All of my small things are those that pertain to my wedding and things we're doing - candles/votives, well wish table, bathroom baskets, aisle runner, pomanders for the aisle, petals going down that aisle, seating chart, bar signs, candy buffet and signs, door initials, programs, tears of joy, baskets for both, chair sashes, table petals, alcohol for our open bar, etc.

Do you have all the decor ready for your venue? What about linens, chairs, tables, etc. What is and isn't provided with your venue? Knowing that will help you to create a list of the small stuff. Do you have a ring bearer or flower girl? What about their basket, attire, and pillow? Do you need to buy anything for your bar? Have you finalized your menu?

I know I don't have everything in a list for you, I'm just trying to point out that it can totally vary depending on what you're including. As long as you've got the big, required things done, I think you're technically all set. :)

You can always use the TK checklist as well. I don't use it, but I know a lot of the girls on this board do. Good luck!

I have a list of "small" things that I need to get done written out in my wedding binder so I will share!

I have other "big" things on my list like confirmations with vendors, confirming guest counts, and finalizing timelines with vendors, but these are those little things that I could easily forget about or remember about too late!

    Order stuff for Welcome Bags
Order Engraved Picture Frames (Parent's gift)
Order Poster and Buy Sharpie for Guestbook
Order "Just Married" window decal from etsy for our honeymoon rental car
DIY Wedding Brochures (for Welcome Bags)
    DIY Card Box
Find Hair Accessory for wedding 'do
    Find Earrings for me
Find Pearl Necklace and Earrings for MOH (her gift)
Get T-shirts for MOH, FG, and me (I found iron ons at Hobby Lobby that say Matron of Honor, Flower Girl, and Bride and they are super sparkly)
Order FI's ring (He is being lazy picking it out!)
    Start tanning
    Start Teeth Whitening
Make collage at Walgreens of pics of FI and I (to display near guestbook)
Decide week of honeymoon clothes (do we need to purchase any more?)
Write out lists of what needs to get done day before and day of
    Make mani/pedi appointment
Make final hair cut appointment for FI (right before) and me (1 week before)
Make a list of all vendor phone #s and contact info
Print out all confirmations/emails showing what was decided and discussed
Print out hair inspirations for wedding 'do for hair stylist
    Purchase all toiletries for honeymoon
Confirm reservations for my dog sitter

and lastly CONFIRM EVERYTHING is written on the bottom of my list. I plan on making a TON of phone calls the week before just to touch base with every single vendor and ensure they remember exactly what I wanted and everything is good to go!

Hope this helps...and congrats on all the big Checks!!!

  • amh - that's a great list of things that you've gotten done! My pocketfold envelopes came in last night, so today at work I'm going to start playing around with the printer to see if I can print the addresses directly on the envelopes instead of using labels (I know, I know, but my handwriting is TERRIBLE).

FI finished taking the labels off of all the wine bottles last night. We're painting them and using them as centerpieces (three to a table).

I found an etsy seller to make our boutonnieres. I'm ordering them tomorrow!

I need to decide if I'm going to make ribbon wands or not. I'm just not sure if I have the time/energy!

We do - we don't live near family, so everyone has to travel in to town. We need to be below a certain number, 70-75, and who we invite in town will depend on what family is actually going to come. All in town guests will get an invite sent at the same time. I know that most people really don't like the idea, and its not that we don't want our in town friends there. We just want to make sure we can accomidate any and all family that wants to come.

I appreciate all the questions - it really does help me formulate a list.

  • Lisa - Thanks for the list! Definitely helps!

CU - Don't feel bad, I printed all of our addresses directly onto the envelopes as well. I just don't have the time/patience to do them all or the money to replace the envelopes I messed up. I LOVE your centerpiece idea btw!!

<div>Thanks! It only took me two tries to get the envelopes right, so once I format all the rest of the addresses. I'll be good to go. I should totally be doing work right now but all I want to do is get some more checkmarks out of the way!</div>
