I want to DIY...

I'm really frustrated with this whole 'living in a different state than where the wedding is.' I am super jealous of everyone's DIY projects. I fell like since we are flying home for the wedding I can't do a lot of the fun DIY projects like card boxes and signs for the reception. It bums me out.

Any of my other traveling brides feeling this way?

I'm having a DW wedding, but am driving there. Maybe you could ship them to your parents or someone before the wedding? Card Boxes are really light and probably wouldn't cost alot especially if you went the smaller route. Plus you have time, so you could send them through usps kinda slow to save money. Just some ideas.

I feel your pain!!!! I am having a DW in Vegas and have been SUPER jealous of everyone's DIY!

I have also found a ton of ideas on pinterest that I would have loved to do if only the wedding was local...

So far this is all I have done DIY:
Card Box (Will be shipping it to Vegas)
Matron of Honor/Flower Girl/Bride t-shirts (glitter iron ons at Hobby Lobby)
Wedding Brochures for OOT bags (made on publisher)
Framed collage of pics of FI and I for the guestbook table (will just pack the frame between my clothes)


Booo...such a short list and I feel like I could have saved tons of money too by DIY for decorations (example I could have made tissue paper pomander balls) instead of having to pay my florist for most of the decorations...

Yup, I feel exactly the same way!  There's so much stuff I wanted to DIY and haven't been able to do any of it because I am so far away from where the wedding is going to be.  I can't afford to ship anything because I am moving there and have to get all of my stuff across the ocean as well.  I feel really far behind becuase we have no decorations at this point.  But I am moving tomorrow so hopefully once I get there and get settled in I can focus on some wedding DIY!

yea diy a few items and use the boxes they have at USPS...if it fits in the box it ships for the flat price-no matter the weight.  Lisa's list is good! just a few things with a personal touch is all you need!

I definitely feel your pain!  I'm living in OH but getting married back in AZ.  I was just home for two weeks and thought I would get some diy projects done.  Between the holidays, bachelorette, and bridal shower, I ended up leaving a lot of the projects for my mom to finish Thankfully she's all to hapy to do it, but I do feel like I'm missing out a bit.
