Adding Guests VENT

Okay, so our original guest list was 203, which included JP and I. It is now at 207. Why you may ask? Because people keep RSVPing with guests that we have to allow for one reason or another and it's REALLY starting to annoy me.

Guest 1 (family friend) - wanted to bring a random date. We said NO.
Guest 2 (family friend) - same thing. NO.
Guest 3 (JP's cousin) - got back together with her boyfriend of 3 years. We couldn't say no, so +1 to our list.
Guest 4 (my friend) - is still dating who I thought was a random dude, it's now been a few months. We couldn't say no, so +1.
Guest 5 (my friend) - got back together with her long term boyfriend. Couldn't say no. +1
Guest 6 (JP's uncle) - got a divorce a couple years ago and just started dating a new girl a month ago (after addresses were sent). JP said he's not telling his uncle no, so +1.

I'm over the plus ones guys, SO over it.

My invites aren't even out yet.  I'm afraid what's going to happen when I start getting RSVP's in.  FI already added 2 more to the list tonight.  He is really killing me with this whole list thing.  He didn't even want a big wedding and his list is getting bigger than mine.  He promised he wouldn't add anymore.  We really need to get these invites out ASAP so he can't add more!

Ugh... I know.... Someone verbally told me infront of my FI and his other GM that "Name" was coming... and I was SOOOO confused.... apparently it's his sugar mama's kid?! Then I had to add my "best friends" bf--even though i didnt want to...so I'm with you.... so over the +1

I know and I can think of at least a few more that will be added too. To be honest, I think my list may even be a little off. I think I need to add one, maybe 2 more to both the YES and guest list count. I need to sit down this weekend and figure it out because adding all these extras has somehow put me off I think.

At first I didn't want any No responses for the simple fact that I was excited for the yes RSVPs. I'm ready for them now though, let's send them back people...

I was so excited for our no's. I got one back though that surprised me...the people told me like a month ago they couldn't wait, then RSVP'd with NO name, NO return address, and only marked regrets....didn't even fill out the number of person spot. So luckily I numbered the back but geez.

In general.... I'm over the RSVP thing and just ready for the wedding...(to be over )

I ended up having to add someone as a plus one and I was really irritated about it - long story, but the person had told me MANY times that this guy was now just renting a room from her, he was only a friend, etc. but then once the list was finalized she asked if he could be added.  I had originally told her I'd have to wait to see how many 'no' RSVPs I got back, but she got really snitty right before we mailed out the invites and I just went ahead and invited him.

We've just started getting the responses back, but so far we got one surprise yes - a cousin I haven't seen in 8 years, I am thrilled she's coming - and a surprise no, from a good friend.

My FI really wanted to invite the parents of the BM but we just didn't have the room - I told him he could go ahead and invite them if we get 30 no responses by Feb. 1.  It's still early enough that if they weren't the best man's parents they wouldn't know they were B listed...but since he lives with them and got his invite already, well, they'll know.  There is one couple on my 'B' list that I would love to invite.  Not sure if I'll actually do it, though.

I had to add a guest today because supervisor asked co-worker - in front of me - if she was going to my wedding.  Of course I had to tell her I had been meaning to ask her for her address, but somehow it got away from me in all the business, blah, blah. . .so co-worker and her date = +2 to the guest list.

Sorry Britt! I know that can be sooooo frustrating. Luckily that hasn't happened to me quite yet. I pretty much built in a plus one for ever single person just because well I wouldn't want to go some place by myself. So yeah no issues yet. crossing my fingers.
