Hi!! I actually just recieved my contract for the photobooth we're going to be renting yesterday! I just need to fill it out and send it in with the deposit! I'm not sure what is typical or normal price wise for booths, but I'm using ShutterBooth and the deposit is $400 to hold the date, and the price for the package I'm getting is about $1300.

I went with them because the quality of the booths and pictures seems to be really good. I didn't want an eye sore of a booth sitting in the beautiful hall so that is sort of what dictated my decision to use them. I think the booths from ShutterBooth are really appealing to the eye and it seems that the quality of the images are really great.

I'm getting the package that includes a "scrapbook" to use as a guest book along with double prints (one for the guests to keep, one for them to put in the guestbook) and a logo on the bottom. I think they offered less expensive packages but they didnt have all the additions that I wanted so take a look on the website and contact Brandi to get more info!

    Hope this helps! GL!

I got pricing on 3 different companies. The pricing was ~$1500 for most places. I'm struggling with the price. In my opinion, it seems expensive for no more than is really happening, a digital camera hooked up to a printer...

Ok, thanks ladies! I actually found a photographer that will do it for $650, which includes 4 hours, an attendent, photo album... I think I will ask for a picture of the booth in case it is ugly! I thought that was a good price, but I wanted to check and I will definitely look further into before making a decision!

Wow! Great price!! Yeah, I would definitely ask for an image of the booth itself b/c there are some really ugly ones out there!! But for that price you kind of can't go wrong!! Great find! :)

duqcheer04 - You can always try to DIY - I googled "how to make a photo booth" before and they give you step by step directions! For me though, it was just more trouble than it's worth! Plus I wanted someone to man the booth and that is all included... but it might be worth a look!

GMC-Thanks for the advice!  I think my parents might actually "gift" a photo booth for us!  I've been in super save mode recently so spending $1500 was "too" much!

ROS- Is it a company from OH?  I spoke with him and received informaiton.  That seemed like a great price to me as well! GL!

I'm doing one.  I think we might be looking at the same company.  But def look around- there are a ton out there, and you can get good looking ones for under $1,000.  easily.  I do way too much research on all this stuff... lol

Please keep me in the loop with the photobooth idea and vendors for Pittsburgh.  I just had a minor heart attack when I saw our Save the Date and invitation pricing quotes, so something under $1000  is the only way I'm going to book a company!

I also reccommend ShutterBooth. They were at my wedding in November and did an amazing job. It was worth every penny of the $1500, IMHO. It blended in, it was staffed and I didn't have to worry about it at all. I got the package with the scrapbook and did the photoframes they have as our escort card holder/favor. It was a huge hit! Good Luck!

OK so the company is EWD Photography. So far, so good. I asked for a picture of the photo booth and it is basically a booth covered with black drapes. I attached the picture he sent below. The website is http://www.ewdphotography.com/ and the total is $650 for 4 hours. More info is below (I copied and pasted what he sent me)

The photo booth rental includes 4 hours with an attendant, a CD of all the images taken, and a Photo Strip Album signed by your guests.  $650.  The only other additional charges would be:  If over 50 miles for the attendant there is a $1/mile charge for anything over 50 (Example: 70 miles one way will incur a fee of $40)  also additional time is charged $100/hour over the contracted time.
As for the picture all you are going to see is black curtains.  Everything outside the photo booth is concealed.  All that is seen inside is a narrow section of the box that houses the equipment.

And finally the photo strips will be custom designed for your event.  The system prints 2 strips at the same time..  1 goes in your photo strip album and the guest keeps the other.

  • Most charge between 500-1500  and understand that the photobooths cost about 10K-15K  and have a marketing and labor cost pluss printer supplies.  Also you can set the photo strip up as the favor (who throwes their face away?)   At The Pittsburgh Photo Booth they charge 700-1500 for a photobooth.
