candles....

So I have a question. Are you pre-litting your unity candle and the side candlesticks you will use to light them?? I'm just talking like lighting it long enough to burn the coating off the wick so that it lights super easy next time? Or do you think that is agaisnt some unspoken rule? lol

Re: candles....

  • Wish I could help, but we're doing a sand ceremony. :(

  • We're not doing unity candles, either, but if it doesn't bother you and your FI I don't see any reason you shouldn't pre-light them.

  • It's okay to light them, that way they will burn easier the day of the wedding.  We will actually be doing the entire ceremony, lighting candles, etc. at the church during our rehearsal.  There's no unspoken rule against lighting candles that I've heard of anyway.
  • Agree with Rachel! Also we r pre lighting ours so we dont have to stand there forever trying to get them to light! I lite my friends bc she felt weird about doing it herself!

  • You need to pre-light them. I think most people pre-light them so they will light faster during the ceremony.
