March 2012 Weddings

Thank Yous

So, we've gotten two gifts so far. I had thought I'd take a cute picture of us on the wedding day with a Thank You sign for thank you cards, but I don't want to wait six weeks to thank people for these gifts. Did you guys buy separate wedding related Thank You cards for the early arrivals?

Re: Thank Yous

  • This might be wrong but I have just been using Thank You cards that we had around the house...not wedding related what so ever.  I think most people don't care what kind of thank you card it is as long as they get thanked.

<div>Ditto. We've gotten a few gifts and didn't want to wait to send out thank yous until after the wedding cause that's still a little ways away. I also didn't want those people wonder if we got the gifts or not. But yeah, we're just using regular thank you notes right now. </div>
  • I've only received one gift (a check) that was specifically a wedding present, all others were from the shower so I think I am just going to use the ones I bought for the shower (they matched the shower ivites). If we start getting a lot more I may go buy some generic Thank You cards.
  • I think it's fine to use generic thank yous. I'm in the same boat right now... we just got our first wedding present (at least I think it was a wedding present... it was from a friend who already gave us a shower gift, so I can only assume since there was no card). I'm going to send the thank you off tonight!

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • I didn't buy wedding related thank yous. I found some regulare ones at Target with 50 in a box for only $10. They are in my wedding colors so I couldn't pass up that deal.

  • For the early wedding gifts we've received, I'm just going to send the same invites I'm using for the shower. They don't match my invites, but they're cute. I actually haven't sent them yet, I've been SO busy. However, I plan to write thank-yous for those gifts, as well as my shower gifts that I receive tomorrow, on Sunday. I'll send them out Monday. :)

  • I think it would be fine to send out just a regular thank you.  I think what I'm going to do is just send a regular thank you cards for the gifts we receive before the wedding and at the bridal shower and maybe do something more personal for gifts we get on our wedding day.
