kind of bummed...

About 9 months ago I decided I wanted to get braces to fix my not very crooked teeth. (I think I was being vain) Anyway, after 9 months of having an expander to widen my jaw I finally got braces today. I HATE them. The only good thing about them is that they will be off for my wedding and I will have perfectly straight teeth :) But I still hate them! I'm sorry I had to vent/complain a little. Anyone else decide to get braces in their 20's or later?

I got braces my Junior of high school. It was pretty embarrassing since everyone else had them when we were in middle school. I got the porcelien (sp?) ones on the top so they weren't extremely noticeable. I also didn't have huge teeth problems, but I wanted them straight for my senior pictures. I had what my friends and I liked to refer to as "a hillbilly tooth." It happened b/c my baby teeth weren't out before this permanent one tried to come in, and it ended up sitting back like a hillbilly. It is disappointing, and they do take time to get used to, but you'll be fine and your photos will be AWESOME!

My dentist told me I would need braces in my 20s...I've decided not to do it, but I hope I don't regret it later on! You will get through it & I'm sure you'll love your wedding photos with straightened teeth!

Thank! They aren't too bad, and 6 months with them on should be nothing. I know of plenty of people who have had them for years.
