Where to get samples?

I'm not getting married until September of 2012 and I've heard of a lot of other brides getting samples for different things (invitations, etc.) and I was just wondering where people were getting their samples, what they were getting samples for, and how do you get them?

    vistaprint.com will send you a sample pack full of wedding stuff.

    If you go to the sites that sell invitations (google wedding invitations), many will send you free samples of invites you are interested in.

    Otherwise, as you look through websites of things you are interested in getting, many will send free samples, others will charge a nominal fee for them.
