Hi there! I was just popping in and saw that gailpete had posted a congratulations message which I just now saw, so thank you very much! I'd be happy to share a brief re-cap, pics (I'll post reviews asap!) with you all!
We got married on August 6th at the Eagle Eye Golf Club in Bath, MI. The wedding was wonderful! We had a later ceremony and reception so it was a long day. We had breakfast with my family, then H went golfing with his groomsmen. It had been cloudy all morning, which had me anxious, but trying my hardest to remain optimistic. Finally around noon, it started to rain. Our indoor reception hall was our back-up option, but I had my heart set on the beautiful wedding garden for the ceremony and pictures, so I kept telling myself the weather would clear up by the ceremony. It rained the whole time I got my hair done and while I drove back home to get ready with the other girls. Just before I went to put on my dress, the rain magically stopped and the sun came out! I was overjoyed! We got to have the outdoor wedding that I so badly wanted, even if it was rather humid after all that rain. But the ceremony was short and sweet so guests didn't mind being outside for that long.
For months, I fully expected to bawl my eyes out during the entire ceremony. Shockingly, I didn't shed a tear! I think I was just purely excited. H, however, cried for a good portion of it, lol. He was so nervous that his hand was shaking as we exchanged rings, haha. I thought it was adorable.
The reception was a blast! Our DJ was a really fun guy who just did a fantastic job of playing music that appealed to our younger, recent college graduate friends, but also things that our relatives could enjoy. People danced the whole night! The food was superb - we did a heavy apps reception, which everyone really enjoyed because they got to mingle with each other so much. The only slight disappointment was our cake, which didn't turn out quite like the photo I had given the baker, but it still looked pretty good.
It's been 3 weeks and we're still getting comments about how much fun everyone had and how nice the ceremony was, which is probably the best thing we could ask for.
