    My reception venue, the Kellogg Center, includes some basic hors d'oeuvres in their wedding package, such as a vegetable crudite, cheese display with crackers and breads, and a seasonal fruit display.  We are adding both hot and cold hors d'oeuvres (probably three or four of each hot and cold) and the baked brie en croute station.  We are going to stay away from carving stations and other heavy hors d'oeuvres because we don't want everyone to be stuffed by the time dinner is served.  We may end up spending around $1k - $2k (we'll order as much as we have to to meet the F&B minimum on the room), though I'd prefer that number to be on the lower side if possible.
