We got our marriage license!

Hi ladies! We finally went to get our marriage license today! About 4 people at the courthouse asked us if we were SURE we wanted to do this...haha! Even the lady that was filling out the paperwork! And then, not like we weren't laughing enough...the lady asked us all these silly questions! Like, "are either one of you intoxicated?" Too funny! And then we were handed a pamphlet on AIDS???? Goodness gracious! We could not stop laughing! Did any of you ladies have a strange experience getting your license?

    We went to Hamilton County since that's where we live. Is that where you went? We did get asked if we were under the influence and an AIDS packet. I thought it was funny most of their "AIDS symptoms" were also symptoms of a UTI. Joy. Haha. I was, however, so nervous that I kept stuttering and forgetting things I shouldn't have .. like my mother's maiden name and CURRENT name!! I'm sure she might have thought I was crazy.

    No, we went to the Morgan County Courthouse. So those must be standard questions then! hmmm...UTI or AIDS...YIKES! haha! I'm sure they get a lotof people who are nervous! Don't worry about it ;)

    Congrats. I keep telling FI we need to get on this at some point soon. Im still trying to figure out for sure what all we need for the license. I am in Marion County though...

    The workers and other people at the marion county office were very interesting to say the least.One character was there without a license!  DuhWe didn't receive any pamphlets though.  They might be silly, but you can't enter a legal binding if you are intoxicated, so they have to ask.  Also, I'm sure there are plenty of people who get married without having any sort of STD test, so they are just trying to put the thought out there.

    They have to ask all those silly questions but it's pretty funny to sit through and I know exactly what you mean about forgetting things that I should have known. I even had to call my mom and get the correct spelling for her middle name!?! Congrats though!!

    silverbubble: All we needed were our drivers licenses (must have correct address) but it might be different in other places. You can call them and ask :)

    silverbubble - i just got mine at marion county this week.  if you both have marion country licenses all you need are those and $18.  i have an out of state license, so i brought a bill showing I'm an Indy resident.We went on Wednesday morning and there was NO line and the workers were really nice.  it was much less painless than i thought it would be.  and, there's an open market outside so you can have a cookie afterwards :-)

    thanks for the input ladies. My fiance, is a police officer and goes to court quite a bit, i keep asking him to stop there and check.  Now i know. Plan is to go with him one day and get em. Time is a ticking.
