Seamstress in Indy

Hello girls! I was wondering if you Indy girls might have any good suggestions for a seamstress in Indy. One of my bridesmaids is in Indy and ordered her dress from Nancy's. It just came in, and she needs to get it altered. Any suggestions? I live and South Bend, and I don't know Indy very well. My friend has lived down there for almost a year now. Thanks!

Does she live on the Northside?  If so, some girls have mentioned a place in Castleton Square mall outside of JC Penny.

She lives on the Northwest side of Indy. I don't think Castleton Square is too far from her.

Sonia w/ Alex's Taylor Shop- outside of the mall in front of JC Penney-  I haven't used her yet- just met her- she was VERY helpful and affordable!  She was highly suggested by many girls!!

Go to Sonja of Alex Tailoring. She's across from J.C. Penney at Castleton [facing opposite side of Best Buy]. Her and her sister own the place. They are fabulous and do great, inexpensive work. She has done all my bridal parties items along w/ a few guests. I have used her for years! I have my final fitting with her in Sept 8 and my wedding isn't until October. Debra

Ditto Sonia @ Alex's Tailor Shop. She's fabulous!I ordered all of my dresses at Nancy's as well .. did you guys have anything go wrong? My BM dresses came in 5 weeks in front of the wedding and were COMPLETELY wrong! It also took Nancy & co. FIVE fittings to get my dress done properly. SO ... head to Sonia asap if you don't want anything screwed up .. I just didn't have the best luck w/Nancy's.

Does she need the dress altered? I had my bridal gown puchased and altered at Nancy's. They have a company come in and they have been great. The lady is really good and definitely not shy! She is so cute..

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies! @courtandcal, Her BM dress just came in two days ago. She hasn't headed over to Nancy's to pick it up yet, so we're not sure if anything has gone wrong as far as ordering it. Man, I hope not! @kmarcov, My BM will definitely need it alterered. She's had to get one size larger because her boobs are too big for the size their guide said for her waist. Plus, she's 5'-3", so I'm sure she'll need to get some length taken off. So, she definitely needs alterations! Sonja at Alex's sounds like the perfect suggestion. Thanks again!

I've also heard of people getting the wrong sash colors or styles at Nancy's.  I got a bridesmaids dress there for a wedding and the service was horrible. I hope this isn't the case for you!

@Chrissy3321, My BM said she wasn't impressed with Nancy's Bridal's service. When she got fitted, all they did was hand her a Mori Lee dress in the size they thought she would be, to try on. My BM told them the style number and color, and they didn't verify it with a picture for her or anything. She said someone was with her only briefly, then they were gone, then popped back in. Not the best service. So, yes, I'm a little worried about her dress. She can't get it until next Friday. I'm trying to not think about it too much so it doesn't drive me insane. If I were down there, I would drive there myself and see what it looks like, and make sure it's the right dress. The dress came in pretty quickly. So, if we have issues, I'm sure it won't take long to get another one in. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be fine. One of the anchors at the TV station she works for suggested her seamstress and said she's very affordable. So, she will probably go to her for her alterations. She did say that she's going to also look in to Sonja At Alex's.
