Alterations...

Does anyone know of a place or person that does good alterations in the Indy area? (Preferably west side - Avon/Plainfield) Thanks!

Chrissy has some good lady and I can't remember where (might be south east side or castleton). Check the threads below and I'm sure its there or she will post. I used Nancy's Bridal and whoever works out of there but that is not in the area. They were great though.

Kmarcov-were your alterations thru Nancy's crazy expensive? All I needed was a hem and the bustle and it costs $210.  Maybe its just me but I thought that was outrageous. I guess I should have asked first.  When are you picking up your dress? We are date twins! I pick mine up on Wednesday 9/9 sometime!

Sorry waters2bsoon for my interrupting post! I live in Anderson, so I am not familiar with that area at all.  I know there are tons of places around Indy, but that might be too far. Maybe check the phone book or ask co-workers if they know of anyone?

  • Go to Sonia at Alex's Tailoring in Castleton across from JCPenny [in the strip mall] She is awesome and very, very affordable! She's done my whole bridal party plus I have taken stuff to her for years. Debra

Lindsay - Man! I should have scheduled to pick mine up Wednesday! I am picking mine up first thing in the morning Thursday at 12pm when they open. Alterations were only $160 but I didn't need the length altered at all. She just added cups, and it was too big to begin with so they took it in on the sides, and did the bustle. If I had shortened it even an inch she said it would have been another $150 so she said to just get heels and not worry about it. I'm glad she told me!!

I believe Chrissy and I go to the same place.  It's Main Street Alterations in Greenwood.  The lady is a trip but does a good job. :)

I second Sonia at Alex's Taylor shop.  She is adding a corset to the back of my dress and doing a french bussel for $70.

My Aunt recommended an alterations place in Avon... I can not remember the name of it right now...  It's right on 36, if you are coming from 465 it's on your left hand side.  Its in a small shopping strip and is next to a bridal shop of some sort.  I think I remember it being right past the dollar tree.   Anyways, if that helps any.  She highly recommended this lady- she did my cousins dress, very well and good pricing!
