How long does a marriage certificate take after the wedding

I'm marrying someone in the military who will only be here a short time before having to go back to his base to finish out his tour overseas, we would like to get my military dependent info done while he's still here but will need a marriage certificate to do this... how long does this normally take in Indiana?  If we take our license that's all signed and official back to the courhouse on the Monday after the wedding do they do it same day?

In Johnson county we were told it would take 7-14 days to get the certificate returned to us. The clerk told us it is usually less time than that, but that's what they say just in case.

We got married 9-26 and got our license on 10-7, so about a week and half to get ours.  We live in Johnson County.

We live in Marion County and they didn't even send it to us!  We had to go online and request one be sent to us when we got home.  I think it gets recorded pretty fast though.Sounds like each county is different, so it's probably best to call the clerk's office and ask them.

we were in marion county as well, if you take ur papers to the clerks office you can have it that day. Glad we did, cause i realized she misspelled my last name. $2 a copy
