My FI works at a major retail store. He is very good at his job and wants to someday be a store manager. At his current store the managers are very dishonest.
He turned the store manager and an assistant manager in to the vice president and district manager for breaking policy and reprimanding him for not firing or reprimanding a horrible employee. At FI's level, he can not do either of them. The district manager big used the written reprimand.
Since then, they have written him up for 2 separate groups not doing their job-over night and the back warehouse room. Again, something he has no responsibility for nor power over. He's not even there overnight to tell them to do their work.
Yesterday he was given his d day- a day off to think about his career and write an action plan. The managers then get to either say he has a job or "reject the plan and fire him. He was reprimanded for something that he followed procedure on and the co manager said "well you should have done it anyway. Sorry if I messed up your wedding plans."
Oh and this guy denied FI time off to even attend our wedding siting no coverage available. (he put in the request in August. And they said not enough time to fid coverage).
So he has contacted the vice president and the top investigators because this is absolute retaliation which again is against policy.
The one big thing in his favor is that a meeting with the chief security with all the members his level turned into a huge complaint session about the upper managers lying, blaming them for things outside their control, and cutting hours to the point have the support staff has quit. (the store manager gets a bonus each december for saving money on employee hours so he is making the bonus as best he can).
We are waiting today for the investigator and vice president to call but there is a huge chance he will be out of a job tomorrow.
