Couponing Tips

Thought we should have a dedicated thread for this to save the other one :P  This is what I always send my friends when they ask me for help... Hope it helps yall...

Websites:

www.couponnetwork.com/ - Tons of printable coupons.  You can usually print 2 of each.  The Blue ones are printable.  Green are ones that you attach to your Tom Thumb card.   Once you buy a certain amount,  you get instant savings and the receipt coupon printouts.

http://www.shortcuts.com/   - This is a half/half site.  You can print paper coupons or you can load them directly onto your store card.  I generally print them first, then add them to my card as they are manufacturers coupons that can be used anywhere.

https://www.pgesaver.com/ - This is a site solely devoted to putting the coupons on your Rewards Card.  You select which you want, click the add button, and you’re done!

http://www.cellfire.com/ - Another half/half site with storable and printable coupons.   They also stack on the others so go nuts adding them :P

Amazing blogs to help you learn:

http://www.thekrazycouponlady.com  - She is one of TLC’s ladies.

http://www.heyitsfree.net/ - Great site that shows you when you can get free items/samples.

http://www.couponing101.com/ - The site I swear by :P

http://couponkatarina.com/category/deals-by-store/walmart/free-at-walmart/ - A GREAT little blog that shows you what you can get 100% free at Wal-mart.  Sometimes I get things I don’t use just to donate to a good cause.  IE: This week you can get Robitussin free.  I don’t use it, but I am guessing the homeless shelter could for this winter.

www.freecouponalerts.com/ - This sends me e-mails when there is an awesome new coupon that most sites may not have.  It also alerts me to Facebook coupons

http://www.savingwithshellie.com/  - I love Shellie’s blog.

Random tips:

·         Make a new e-mail strictly for your coupon sites.  Otherwise you will have way to much stuff in your normal email.

·         Figure out a sorting system.  Some people like binders, some envelopes.  I use 2 different kinds – My main source is a binder with business card/sports card holder pages in it.  It’s alphabetized by brand first letter.  It makes it 100x easier to keep things organized.  I also have a purse coupon file.  I keep the coupons I use every trip to the store(for things like milk/cereal/bread) and coupons for non-grocery items (Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, clothing stores, restaurants, etc) in it so they are always with me.

·         Make your grocery list for your shopping trip early.   First, check your inserts and mailings from your favorite store.  I ONLY use TomThumb/Safeway/Randals.  Make your meal plans around deals.  Then Google the other  items on your list.  I knew I needed sour cream last week so I googled “Daisy Sour Cream Coupon” and happened across a $2 off coupon on their FB page.  My sour cream cost me $.39 instead of $2.39.

·         DEFINITELY learn your stores coupon policy.  For instance, my Tom Thumb doubles up to .35 and triples any coupons worth $.55, .60, or .85!

·         DEFINITELY Part 2 – Find a store with a rewards program.  I get almost $.70 off per gallon of gas for using my TT Rewards card!

·         When I am ready to go to the grocery store, I organize my coupons according to my list (the same order so they are easily found).  As I pick up the items, I put the coupons in the cart (either in the seat or in the cup holder) so I know what I can use.   I also organize my list in order of aisles in the store (so I can just get 1 thing right after the next)
