So I have been married 20 days (yay). I just put out all our gifts this week. We were very lucky to be given almost everything kitchen and. Atheism related plus other things. (sorry if that sounds baggy but just I
FI for my question.

What do I do with all my old stuff? None of it is in bad condition but all used of course.
Basically I see 2 options. Donate to the salvation army store or have a garage sale.

Pros for donate are helping a group that does a lot of good for our town. Easy. Gets the stuff out of my spare room.
Cons are h and I truly could use the money however much to put toward a new comp since mine died 3 days ago.

Pros for garage sale are getting a little extra money which always helps and getting local people things they need at a good price.
Cons. My apartment does not allow garage sales out side. It must be done in the apartment. Strangers in my home is not an idea I favor. But I honestly think I could make about 200 which we could use.


We aren't hurting formosa right now but every little bit helps.

What to do?

I'd maybe look at selling a few key items online and donate the rest?  We ended up donating pretty much all our old stuff b/c it just wasn't worth the hassle....

I agree with Kate. I would probably sell a few of the bigger items and then donate the rest. I am a big believer in donating to charity, and it would be a big hassle to host a garage sale inside your own apartment (which is a really weird rule anyway).

I agree with weird rule. The landlords are kinda idiots. They make rules a out how the outside must look classy then rent to known drug dealers. Priorities please!!

I'd favor trying to sell a few of the bigger items.  The in-apartment garage sale wouldn't be worth the hassle to me, as a seller or a buyer.

I'm more curious about the "atheism related" gifts.  Do tell.

Go directly to the Goodwill so you can get a receipt.  You might be able to get a tax deduction.

I agree - lol  Welcome back Sweetred!!  If it were me, i'd put the big (really nice) stuff on craigslist and donate the rest.    Seems like we did alot of that recently with FI & I moving in with eachother.

Thanks chickentwin. Hoping to have the wedding pics soon to show off. My photog says she edited 100 of the 150 she liked for me to choose from. I can't wait!!
