AW: Shower Recap (long)

Ok, so I got a few photos to share, so I thought I'd fill you ladies in on my shower from Saturday. My sister (MOH) hosted and my mom helped organize since my sis is OOT.  They had it at Gullifty's in Squirrel Hill. It was really nice.  The loft space they had was perfect for our size, but wouldn't have worked it we'd have had more people (We ended up with 24 people including me and 2 little girls).  They food was great and the service was very good.  The shower started at 1 pm and they brought out appetizers, took everyone's order (they did a feature menu) and everyone was served lunch by maybe 1:40 pm, so that wasn't bad at all.The restaurant has a balloon artist come up for the kids every Saturday, so the manager asked what my colors were and had the balloon artist make "centerpieces."  They're hats, but they were fun and different.  And then she made animals for the younger girls in attendance.  She was super sweet about it.  FI's aunt even had a penguin made to take home to her future DIL who couldn't be there.I know Gullifty's is known for their desserts, but my mom ordered cakes (I don't know they name, but I can get it).  We're doing cupcakes at the wedding, so she got 2 giant cupcake cakes.  They were adorable and tasty, even though one of them started to slip in transport.  We decided to set them up so one was "kissing" the other.  It worked!I got some really great things from the registry. The funny thing was that I got 2 deviled egg platters (one fancy glass thing, one everyday plain white) and about two weeks ago, my FMIL and I had a conversation about how I don't make them!  (FI likes them and FMIL makes them, so I don't have to).  It was a lot of fun and I'm so happy with how it turned out.  Here are photos: http://tinyurl.com/leaurj

Colleen, that looked like a great shower. Lots of fun. The cakes looked delicious. But, am I imagining it, or did the restaurant really misspell congratulations in really big letters on the menu? I <3 typos.

Haha Shannon--you caught it.  When the guy called, he asked my sister if she wanted to put something like that on the menu.  She said sure, and spelled my name for him (because I HATE it when someone spells my name wrong).  She was so pissed because she didn't know she had to spell congratulations for him too!
