Crinoline skirt

Hi ladies!! Anyone wearing a crinoline skirt to flare out your dress? If so, are you concerned like me about not wanting to use the bathroom? LOL I feel like its going to be a hassle!

Re: Crinoline skirt

  • i wore one!
i didn't use the bathroom at all after i put on my dress- i put it on around 1:30, and didn't need to go until about 10pm when we got home, honestly, it was the last thing on my mind.
oh, also, i didn't drink any alcohol. which was probably in my favor.

  • I used one.  ANd I read somewhere that the easiest way to go to the bathroom is to pick up the front of your dress, walk forward onto the toliet, and go that way. Your sitting on the toliet backwards, but you cna see where your dress is, and you won't pee on it or anything.

My dress came with some crinoline in it already. I had my seamstress add a layer to give it more poof.

This is exactly how I peed 2-3 times in my dress on my wedding day. I wore a Spanx slip over my regular underwear, so I hiked the bottom of the slip up, moved the underwear to my ankles, and approached the toilet facing the wall. In hindsight, I should have completely taken my underwear off and hung it on the hook or held it in my hand to keep my ankles more free.

This is probably TMI, but thankfully I did not have to go #2 until we got to the hotel after the reception. I did go in my dress because we had to go to our after party and I wanted to keep my dress on. But it was much easier in a hotel bathroom! I just gathered all the skirt and moved it to my lap while sitting on the toilet normally.

This is true.  I didn't wear crinoline because my dress didn't need it, but I peed like this, I only went once right before the ceremony so it was a breeze!

  • I plan on wearing crinoline or maybe a hoop skirt. But I'm just hoping I don't have to pee at all until we get home!

BAD idea! You want to make sure you're hydrated!!!! If you don't want to pee, yes you may not want to over-consume alcohol, but you should def. keep a bottle of water on you at all times and continually be drinking it throughout the day!

DEFINITELY stay hydrated, I drank little to no water on my wedding day, then had some wine.  By the time the after party rolled around, I felt like crap.

  • Yes, make sure you stay hydrated. Even if it's cold outside, you will sweat under all your layers, which will lead to peeing less often :)  So will drinking less. We had a full open bar at my wedding but I had 2-3 drinks the entire night. No one likes a shiitfaced wasted bride or groom ;)  Plus my mom would have killed me!

  • My dress has the crinoline built in. I'm trying to figure out the bathroom since the stalls at the reception are small and the stalls at the church are SMALLER! The only good thing I can say about the ones at the church are they have saloon type doors that just swing open.

I definitely agree with PPs. Stay hydrated! My little sister barely drank anything the day of and was way overheated and crappy feeling by 6 o'clock.
