Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, reception photos?

For those that are recently married, did anyone hold their reception at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts? Or know someone that did? Would you happen to have photos to share on your profile, etc? I live out-of-state, and any photos would be a great help! :) Thanks ladies! :)

I've been to a wedding reception there (with the ceremony adjacent in Mellon Park). It was nice and catered by Rania's.The biggest issues there are that the reception is primarily held in a tent (cocktail hour is inside), music has to be shut off fairly early given local ordinances, it gets quite crowded inside during cocktail hour, I'm not sure what the rain plan is, and the DJ was stationed inside with the bride, groom, and guests all sitting outside. So that set up was a little odd to me. It can be quite beautiful, though. Keep in mind, the art installations could be weird during your wedding. The one I went to, there was a GIANT baby on the wall (the wall was bright red). It was unique (we cropped to keep it out of the photos). HTH!

I really love the PCA space. There are some unique restrictions (decibel level of music, no red wine, etc), but it is very beautiful. Their caterers are excellent. I am using Opening Night for my own wedding and they cater at the PCA. As long as your guest list is under 150 you wouldn't have much crowding. You girls are great! Thank you so much for the great information, it really was helpful! Sometimes it can be so hard being an out-of-state bride. Thanks again!

    BEWARE!!!
Although it's been awhile since anyone commented about the PCA, just in case someone is considering it now, be forewarned that the Special Events Coordinator there is a NIGHTMARE to work with!  Also, seems like you may save money by bringing everything in youself, but it all adds up.  You'll be better off going someone else.
    Go anywhere else!!
  • I would love to even be able to write a review, but I have been trying to get ahold of Joy, the PCA event director, since the end of July!! I have written her several emails and left two messages on her voicemail, with no response. My fiance also tried emailing her with no luck. I am really amazed at the lack of communication and professionalism. Based on these reviews, and others on various wedding forums, Ms. Sato is a Jekyll and Hyde wedding coordinator -- never know who you're going to get for your wedding! Yikes!
