Tuesday Night Thread

Okay, this may not be a popular post, but I am going out on a limb and saying it - Ever since the blow out, this board has been dull and un-entertaining.  The same post 40 times a day just gets blah.  Let's liven this ish up a bit!

So, let's hear it.  Tell us something interesting about yourself that doesn't involve your ring, your saying yes to the dress moment, or your current eating habits ;P

I will start.  I am legally deaf in my right ear, have survived cancer twice, and can't walk on a completely flat surface without busting my face or ass on it.  :D

    Nice idea Kendall! :)

Interesting tidbit about me: I was diagnosed with a rare disease about 9 months ago. It's called intracranial hypertension, and it's a pretty crazy disease. I'm on various medications, and I'm pretty lucky to only have a mild-moderate version (so far), but I'll have it forever.

Something a little more fun: I cannot eat ice cream on a cone and walk at the same time. Seriously.

  • Interesting facts about me I have 3 brothers and a sister but am an only child. My mom had no other kids. I'm the only person in my family to graduate college. I have moved once a year for the past 3 years. I feel like mine are nothing compared to you ladies.
  • I just finished eating dinner and now i'm having some frozen yogurt for dessert.
I have also killed every plant i have owned. GO TEAM BLACK THUMB!!!

I don't know if there is anything else interesting about me... I'm obsessed with hello kitty. So much so, that i have a tattoo of her on my arm :)
  • I'll bite.  I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in march and have since been diagnosed with another unhappy "life long" problem ta-boot.  Doc and I have been battling symptoms with all sorts of meds, tests and treatments since March.  She did condone me smoking pot.  I'm still not exactly sure how I feel about this as I've never really been a drug user, but everyone's initial reaction to my diagnosis seems to be "Try pot."

Since I've already sorta told you all this here's another:

FI and I have an agreement that he will shave (his face) whenever I want him to (he is now clean shaven and I really don't have to tell him to) so long as I don't get a tongue ring.  I had one for 5 years - but he REALLY doesn't like piercing!

I have eight siblings- two sisters and six brothers (all from the same parents who have been married forty years.)
I got my license when I was thirty.
I have twenty piercings and did all but four myself.
Our little family consists of two cats (Henry P and Sammy J,) a rabbit (Polyester,) and a snake (Fang.)
I'm vegan and do not eat meat of any kind (including chicken and fish- I don't know why people even think those are vegetarian, much less vegan, lol) eggs, dairy, honey, or gelatin. I also do not own leather or fur products.
I'm Puerto-Rican and Chinese, with 1/16 Native American for good measure. People constantly speak to me in Spanish, which I do not understand.
I lived and taught in Taiwan for nine months. I do not speak Taiwanese or Chinese.
I once worked as a church sexton.

Well, since we're being honest - my friend who has Lupus has coaxed me enough to try it.  my source was someone I deeply trust.  I'm still not sure how I feel.

I'd of course tried pot when I was younger, and again when I went through my irresponsible 'bad' phase.

My Doc has told me that should I wish to get a med MJ card she'll support me.  (She can't issue them) but I'm not entirely sure I want to risk being on some list somewhere.  Esp if I end up going into business for myself one day.

I have this very dark desire, that I doubt I'll ever fulfill, to try acid once.  I don't know why - but I've had it since I was a teen.  I've never done it and I only want to do it once.

True fact: I've never tried ANY drugs (including pot), never smoked a cigarette, and only had alcohol once (and not enough to get me drunk). FI is the same. My mother doesn't understand how my brother and I can go through life without trying pot once, but I'm fine without it (she also smokes cigarettes and drinks, so I don't think she can say too much about it).

On a happier note- I am 23 years old and still sleep with my favorite stuffed animal. Puppy. I've had him since I was 4.
