Under the Dress?

I have a really really difficult time fitting things like corsets  and even thigh highs ( I get the sausage effect..)
. I am a size 12-14 on top and 16-18 on the bottom. I have seen a few plus size lingerie sites (hips and curves, secrets in lace) but really hesitant to spend all of that money if I cant return it. Does anyone have a site or store they can recommend??

    If you're looking for lingerie I would avoid corsets if you have a hard time with them. Why not go for a more baby doll style? Lane Bryant has some really cute ones.

    You sound like you're shaped like me, lol- so I can totally relate to the sausage effect! I got this  http://www.amazon.com/Carnival-Womens-Front-Closure-Silhouette/dp/B002ECF1LK/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top and it was a great, great buy. In addition to fitting perfectly, my husband loved the way it looked on our wedding night! But I also was hesitant to buy online without trying it on so I appreciated that I got the usual Amazon return policy with this.

    A costumer designer I know suggested either Orchard Corset or Bratenders. Both are online. I went to Bratenders when I was in NYC and they did a great job fitting my figure.

    Thank you! I love that Amazon find. LB and Ashley good for sleepwear lingerie but they have wedding corsets? 
     I actually have a corset from Orchard Corset and its too big in the bust. My FI actually went in there and they said they would fix it for me. I will see what else they have there and check out Bratenders too!

    Bratenders was great. One caveat: if you can, take your dress with you. The corset I got turned out to not work with my dress (which was in DC). Luckily, the girdle they sold me comes up high enough that it barely makes a difference. They do have a 30 day return policy, but I was not able to get to NYC in that time.

    I found a corset today from Top Drawer Lingerie here in Houston with the garters attached nd bought it for under my dress.  My problem is that if I wanted to use the corset for later with the garters, I would be concerned that I would have sweated in it.  LOL  So looking for lingerie for the wedding night and will check out what the other Kotties have suggested.  Thanks!
