We still haven't decided (granted we have plenty of time).  My fiance does not like to fly and I'm not a huge fan of it either but all of the good places you have too!  And it will still be hurricane season when we honeymoon.  But we were thinking Key West (about a 24 hour drive but would love to sitesee along the way!) or maybe we will suck it up and pop some xanax and hop on a plane to somewhere more tropical.

We are waiting until spring break for my sake (work). However, we are going on a cruise to Mexico "for fun" in December, which his parents are paying for (b/c it's their 40th anniversary) - so that's "honeymoon-esque," right?? :)
  • We are most likely off to Isla Mujeres, if we have enough left over after the wedding.  We're on a really tight budget, and I am resigned to the fact that our honeymoon fund might very well be used for day-of expenses.  I really hope not... we need a vacation!
  • We went to Ireland (techinically we got married in the middle of our "honeymoon" (Canadians need to be in Ireland 5 business days before the wedding date for it to be legal)).

We spent a week in Galway (sightseeing, day trips to the Cliffs of Moher and Ailwee Caves, ate AMAZING food, etc...) then we spent two days at Ashford Castle (where we did some Falconry, got married and ate more amazing food) and then we spent three days in Dublin (Dublin was pretty lame, I'm not going to lie, but we did a day trip through County Wicklow and the views were absolutely breathtaking).

We can't wait to go back!

  • my man of honor is getting married in vermont less than a month after my wedding...so that is pretty much going to be my honeymoon.

I'm hoping FI is down with planning out some fun activities to do on our drive out there and back so it will seem more like a vacation.

  • all of those sound really fun. i guess i should tell you guys where we are going. I left it up to my FI and we are going to Montana along the yellow stone river about an hour from bosman. we are staying in a cabin right along the river with our most frequent visitors being deer, bear, elk, wolf, and many other wild life.

So far...nowhere and nothing, hah. Money is tight enough for the wedding itself so we may just try and get a car and take some daytrips in the days after our wedding, nothing too crazy.

  • We haven't decided. We talked about Tahiti, but when we found out about how much the airfare was going to be we decided to save that for a time when we don't have to pay for a wedding too. And then we thought about the carribean, but the time of year we are going to get married its probably going to be right in the middle of hurricane season. So now we are thinking maybe Ireland or somewhere on the west coast of Mexico or South America. We ay just see what the best deal we can get from Groupon travel that also includes airfare is when the time gets closer.

  • We are taking a mini-moon to New York City - staying at a nice hotel on Times Square -we have tickets to see Avenue Q - and are planning some fancy dinners and a little shopping and hopefully lots of quality time just enjoying being married :)  We are planning a bigger vacation next year - I want Vegas or somewhere West Coast.
  • We have decided on Montreal.  We wanted to go to Europe but the airfare is prohibitive and we didn't want to loose 2 full days for travel.  Montreal sounds romantic and fun with lots of good food and seems fairly Europeans, at least to Americans, generally.  Plus, it's somewhere none of our married friends have gone!
  • We did a mini-moon to Chicago.  Took the train down, stayed at The Drake on the Magnificant Mile (thank you hotels.com for a great rate!) and went to some great restaurants.  Low key and easy - it was perfect.

  • all of these sound super exciting. have any of you guys thought about a cabbin or house? to rent?
  • My fiance and I are going to Disney World. We both love Disney and I've never been to Disney World, so we thought this would be fun. We had talked about taking a cruise, but ultimately decided against it.

  • We're going on a mini-moon to Catalina Island.  It's close enough to be affordable, but far enough to feel like we're "gone"  :)   Can't wait!!
  • My fiance is planning the honeymoon and we are going to the Virgin Islands!
  • if we get passes, hopefully san diego comic con
