Corset Problems

I felt like I needed something to make me feel a little more confident with my tummy area. So,  I purchased a Corset from David's Bridal.  I was not able to see how, I looked in the corset because there was no mirrors in the dressing room (I was not going to walk out in just a corset).  The consultant said it fit very well, as far as cup size and such.  But, when I got home and tired it on again, I noticed major BACK FAT! What do you think I should do?  Wear the corset or not?

*On a side note I'm really starting to stress out about every little detail for the wedding... and when I stress out I break out in Shingles! Please pray I don't have a break out!  If any of you have experienced Shingles you know how horrible they are!

Re: Corset Problems

  • Same thing happened to me, I ended up not wearing anything under my dress on my wedding day. No back fat and the corset in my dress kept everything in. Best of luck to you!

  • I know how you feel.  Sometimes its better to keep the shapewear simple, because truthfully any shapewear or corsets don't take the fat away it just masks it which means the fat still needs somewhere to go and you end up with things like back fat that you dono't normally have.  I experienced that when I tried on different shapewears.  Maybe you should go to a speciality store where you can try on different types of shapewear and you will be more confident in somethign that fits you better.  Good luck and I'm sorry that this happened to you.

  • I wound up returning my DB longline bra and getting this  http://www.amazon.com/Carnival-Womens-Front-Closure-Silhouette/dp/B002ECF1LK/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top I love that I can get into it by myself! My dress has a corset back and I think it's mostly a matter of how it's laced up. If it's laced too tight on top, I get major muffin top up there! I had the worst time with the DB bra but I loved the second one I got so maybe try shopping around and seeing what works?

  • The problem Im having is that while I am considered a plus sized woman, my top half didnt get the memo. As a 38B I dont exactly fall into the plus sized model for corsets and undergarments, but the regular sizes dont fit my 49" bootylicious hips. I want to wear a corset because I love corsets (Im a rennie at heart) but finding a corset, at a reasonable price, that will fit the top half and the waist/hip area has been very difficult.:(
    Anyone have any suggestions?
