Working after the wedding?

Re: Working after the wedding?

  • I personally love my job and love working, so I will continue to do so (I got married in June of this year). Personally, I make more than H so I couldn't quit if I wanted. I know that I would be bored out of my mind in a couple of days if I knew I wasn't going back to work. I'm a teacher, and I do love my summers off, but I love the school year too.

When we have kids, I will do a maternity leave, but will be going back to work and putting my kids in day care.

My personal situation and choices, of course :)

[QUOTE]When I said "gold digger", I was talking about girls who are like, "Wheeee, I'm married now, so I don't have to work again ever! He'll take care of me and buy everything because he's the man and that's his job... keeping me happy." I realize there are situations, like Amt's and divinemsbee's, that are an exception. I'm sorry if my words hurt you. I should have clarified. I realize some people can't work, or they're transitioning between jobs, or they can't find a job, etc. To me, there is a HUGE difference between that and quitting a job solely because  you have a husband now.

I agree with what you're saying there. I must have completely glossed over some of the posts because I didn't see 'gold digger' until I read divinemsbee's post, and some of what she said struck a cord with me.

I guess you'd have to live in like a stepford wives community to have stuff to do all the time. Going to the mall/shopping gets old, even if you volunteer 4 days a week theres still time where you have to figure something to do.

Maybe... and this is completely possible... I'm beginning to go batty just having the animals to talk to all day. ;)
