Sample Sizes

What are the sample sizes for wedding gowns in most stores? Do they stock fourteens? What stores in DC stock larger size samples?

Most salons stock a variety of sample sizes.   You might want to cruise the web and find which designers you like best, and then call stores who carry those designers, and ask if they have any samples 14 or larger.   It's better to call ahead of time and ask, then get there and find out they only have 1 dress you can try on.

I went to the Alfred Angelo signature store- they had almost every dress in a super small - a medium - (like 12-14) and then a plus size at an 18 or 20.

AA had the largest selection of true Plus - it is amazing what you can and cant fit in to get an idea of how the dress will look on you - I agree with the Call ahead--- some stores even offered to get a larger size shipped for me - and others said they had a large selection but when it came to it i could only try on 2 dresses - just Ask

It depends on the shop. Some places have a plus size rack with multiple sizes. I would call the shop ahead of time to see what they can offer before making an appointment. That way you don't get down there and they don't really have anything to try on. 

I wouldn't rule a place out because they have smaller sizes. I was amazed at the dresses that fit over my head. Not that they zipped up (or came close) but I was able to get the gist of it.
