Bridesmaid size 40+?

Someone on another board wants a dear old friend as a bridesmaid, but doesn't know where to find dresses over size 40.  She isn't getting much help there.  Anyone here know designers that go that large?

She might need to have something made for her -- the largest size I've seen is a 32.

I would ask where the BM buys her regular clothes and see if she can get something formal there. I did a ton of digging and never found anything bigger than a 32.

The closest size I found was a 36. I agree that she should just have one made. In my area, a custom made dress is about $120

Seriously, talk to your BM.  I'm sure she knows where she buys here regular clothing.  Tell her the color and length that you need her to find a dress in, and let the other BMs do the same. It will save everyone the headache of trying to find matching dresses.

I agree that talking to the bridesmaids may be the best idea.  I'm sure she will have a better idea of where to find clothes that she is comfortable and feels beautiful in.

it is better to choose custom made for her. usually the biggest size for dress seller are 32.

I have two bridesmaids that are on the larger side and they found the dresses for the entire group on dreamprom.com. This is also where I am buying my wedding dress because they give you the option to pay a little more for the dress to be made to fit your measurements exactly.
