Lets get our TAN on!

I'm going to be working on my natural tan this summer, and want to find a strapless swimsuit.  Problem, is I'm VERY top heavy.  Does anyone have any suggestions where I can find a strapless swimsuit that is supportive?

Also, I'm wondering if anyone you ladies plan on tanning for your big day?  If so are you doing natural tanning, spray, or the bed?

  • Tommy Bahama suits are great.  I'm a 34D and feel very comfortable and fully covered/supported in their tops.  I think their tops go up to size 38DD.

I may do a spray tan before the summer to get something on me.  My skin is extremely fair, so I go straight to burn on even the lightest tan bed settings or within 15 minutes in the sun.

  • Lucky for me, FI thinks women are prettiest when they're pale, so I'm not planning on tanning.  However, as for swimsuits, Victoria Secret has some very supportive styles. Just make sure you wear sunscreen! A tan on your wedding day is NOT worth skin cancer! So brown safely!

Got to agree with that.  But that being said, I'm more worried about tan lines, and my wedding is early June, so I will probably be hitting up a tanning bed, because it doesn't get warm enough around here that early for natural tanning.

I love beingo out in the sun and how a tan looks on my skin, but everyone please be careful! Skin cancer can kill you!

  • I have seen wayyyyyy too many people who don't tan well and end up looking Snooki-orange. Ugh. Be careful and avoid that.

As for myself, I don't tan. At all. Ever. I'm not capable of tanning: I go straight from pale white to burnt red and straight back to pale white, with painful peeling in between. I wish you the best of luck for looking golden on your big day, but I will be embracing the SPF. :)

  • As a akin cancer survivor I am biased lol. Tanning is icky to me. Lol. As for a swim suit, a friend and amazing seamstress took one of my old bras that still fit and sewed on swim suit material. She made me a tankini. Its awesome because I am super top heavy.

</div><div>I feel you on this! Plus, I wouldn't look like myself if I got a fake tan for the wedding. I have been pale my entire life and I don't think I should look crazily not like myself just because it's a wedding.

  • I was so going to ask this question!
i am so so so pink/pale and my MOH is transparent :) but we both thought a little spray tan might even out our skin and look nice in photos so we are not washed out...
Neither one of us have ever done it but i did have successes with a lotion on my legs a few years back... Our idea is to go in april for a test spray and make notes on how it goes then if we like it plan one for October before my wedding - i am not looking to be golden just even... My mom is against it....

You can get a great airbrush tan, which will do exactly this without giving you color... but I would try it a couple times before your wedding.  Make sure you research and go to a reputable place so you don't turn orange 2 days later.
