good workout advice?

i think i have just about tried it all. i need a good workout dvd or routine that can help me lose weight and feel beautiful for my wedding in october. i dont want to be "skinny" by any means. i have curves and i like them. i just want to tighten my arms and thighs and flatten my belly a little. i'm a size 14 and would like to go to a 10 or 8. ive been hearing good things about the bridalicious dvds. any more opinions?

Re: good workout advice?

  • I have Turbo Fire but have never been able to do the workouts, they're fast and confusing. I've always gone back to walking. It tones your legs, butt, and tummy without being hard on your knees. Then I would go home and do Pilates or yoga for flexibility, definition, and strength. Very low impact stuff but it keeps me going and I dont find myself trying to avoid it.

  • thanks! a friend of mine told me about turbo fire and said she loves it.
i also always resort back to walking and biking. just gets boring after a while. :)
i think i'll try up my hip hop abs again. :)
    thanks again!
  • I just got Jillian Michaels workouts. My MOH did the 30 day shred and dropped 36 pounds in 45 days! I also just downloaded a running app to my phone for people who have never run before. I am convinced Im gonna do a marathon within the next year!
  • the zumba fitness dvds. they are soo much fun! before you know it you have burned 1000 calories. or swimming is an excellent full body workout!

  • I always change up what I do since I get bored extremely easily! I have a few of the Jillian Michaels workout DVDs, they kick your butt and I always feel like I accomplished something when I complete one. I also try out various group fitness classes at my gym too, I've gone to Yoga, Pilates, Zumba & Body Works plus Abs classes.

  • I joined myfitnesspal.com and it has kept me really accoutable. I also bought a FitBit and it is likewise great at keeping me accountable for making sure I get enough activity in a day.

<div>I've lost 95 pounds using the Lose It app (loseit.com, it's free). It's not a specific diet plan but it's a way to keep track of food and exercise, and it tells you how much to eat to lose weight at a healthy rate (and there are great message boards with lots of people to get ideas from!). There are a few good exercise dancing videos on Netflix you could use. Most of the exercise I do during the school year is playing Just Dance 3 on my Wii, which is so fun it barely feels like exercise. Just a few ideas :)</div>
