Dress Alterations

I bought my dress in the Harrisburg area, but live 2 hours away from there. The alterations are offered at the store, but only on certain days during the week and once a month on the weekend. Can I pick up my dress and have it altered closer to where I live by someone at a local dress show?

I believe that unless you've signed something saying you'll get alterations done there (and some bridal shops are hot on that) you are completely within your rights to take it elsewhere. Especially since it will be closer to you.

I agree w/ AMT, where you alter your dress is up to you.  Just make sure you do your homework - you don't want to take your dress to someone you don't trust.

I bought my dress at a shop about 45 minutes away.  I searched bridal shops in the area.... one would not do alterations because the dress was not bought there, another would do them if I paid $45 for a dress bag with their name on it, and the last one was more than happy to do the alterations.  Possibly because my family has used her alot over the years.  But definately like PP said..... do some research!!Good Luck!!
