Earring and necklace do they have to match?

I plan on wearing the hart pendant my husband to be gave me but not big on the earring that go with it and want to go with a pair of flower earring. here's my necklace and here the earring I like.

I don't think they have to match exactly, but you might not want to put hearts and flowers together. It might be better to go with a plainer earing that is just a simple shape.
