Anyone have any idea how to go about renting a school bus near York for a ceremony shuttle?

Maybe try contacting different schools in the area?  They should be able to provide you with the bus garages' information.

Have you tired custom coach? They have school buses as well as the nice fancy ones, probably a bit cheaper than the fancy ones I would assume as well.
