My planning is going well! You're sweet for asking. I had my bridal shower last Sunday which was so much fun and my boudoir session with Tess was Thursday. I plan to post about that as soon as I get all the pictures back. She sent me a few sneak peeks and they are unreal. Absolutely to die for. I recently managed to iron out a parking issue at my venue that we were concerned about, but I'm SO LATE getting my invites out. It's freaking me out a little bit. I bought this awesome kit from AC Moore to make these gorgeous chocolate brown pocketfold invites and I spent one Saturday evening at the FIL's house with FI using their brand new printer to print them out and FMIL helped us assemble them. They are absolutely gorgeous and I'm so excited about them, but I had to make an extra insert for directions and accommodation info and it's taken me forever to get that together. Today I counted our updated guest list and realized I need 10 more invitations than I have so I have to go buy another kit and put a bunch more together. Fortunately I have tomorrow off from work and my mom is going to come down to help me. I will get them out tomorrow if it kills me!I finally decided that I'd be much more comfortable having a professional dj and my dad is trying to get me one. I've never heard of the ones he has been contacting so I'm a little nervous about it, but I have a pretty specific playlist so if they're willing to get all the songs I want and play those songs and pretty much only those songs, I figure it can't go that badly, right? I guess we'll see.My dress is supposed to be coming in any day now and I'm getting really antsy about it. I can't wait to see it! My bridesmaids have still not gotten their dresses yet... I told them all to just get whatever chocolate brown dress they like and not one of them has actually done it yet. At my shower, the 3 of them that were there (out of 4 total) were asking if they could get matching dresses if they could all find one they could agree on and I told them it was fine with me, but they'd have to get the 4th bridesmaid to agree to it and she lives in NYC so wouldn't be able to go on any dress shopping trips with the rest of them. She was also the most excited out of all of them when I told her she could wear whatever dress she wanted. So I'm definitely interested to see how that turns out as well! How is your planning coming? Can you believe it's less than 50 days for us???

Ugh. Invitations. How well do I remember THAT experience. My blood, sweat, and tears are in every one of them-- along with 2 weeks of my life, from 8:30am to 1:30am every one of those 14 days...When you get them out, though, it feels great. Then you get to stalk your mailbox and get cranky about (lack of) RSVPs... :-)I finally decided to get a real DJ as well-- we're going with Rockwell Productions and using Larry. So far, it's been a good thing. Ooh-- and that's something to add to my "To Do" list: make an appointment to go over music selection and style of the emceeing with him.Other than that, I'm starting to freak out about all the little details. Once I get the ceremony format settled with my brother (who is officiating), I can finish designing, printing, and assembling programs. I also have to work on the centerpieces, as we're creating them all by ourselves (each table will be an activity that Wayne and I like to do together). I also have to meet with the baker about the cake design. I have to do a seating chart of some sort (thank god it's not seats, but just tables!) but I can't do that until the rest of the RSVPs come in (deadline is August 3rd). We also have to do favours (burn cds of music for each guest group plus attach two Lindt truffles to each escort card). I have to print up escort cards-- again, can't do that until the RSVPs are all in. I have to find jewelry for myself that won't break the bank. I have to finish up coordinating with the potter who's commissioned to make my wine ceremony stuff (2 goblets, one for each set of parents, and our 2-handled marriage cup). The list goes on and on. Unfortunately, I also have work, my online Psych course which I couldn't possibly care LESS about, and my cousin's fiancee's wedding shower this weekend (in CT). Then my own shower (2nd one! but in Maine this time, thank God) the following weekend. I have nursing school prep stuff to do as well. I'm starting to get upset, now, just thinking of it all! AUGH!As for your dress-- when is it supposed to come in? I was DYING for mine to come in (especially since I hadn't ever tried it on, actually, before ordering it), which surprised me. I never thought I'd be that into the dress thing. Will you have photos? I've seen those AC Moore kits, actually-- I'm modeling my programs after one of them, in fact. They have some nice stuff! And I think I've just turned this into a novel. I'm glad you shared, though-- it's made me a little neurotic, but in a good way, I think!Oh-- one last thing. If your BMs go with J.Crew dresses, they have a TON that are in the same chocolate brown colour and they can all try them on and buy them without being in the same state. And they're also all online so your BMs can coordinate which ones they like and look at them all and agree. (Or not!) That's what my friend had to do for her brother's wedding and it looked AWESOME. In fact, their dresses were nicer than the bride's, I thought.

Oh lord I can't even think about all the little details. I really want to have ceremony programs but I have no idea if I'll ever get around to that with all the other stuff I have to do. A dj really isn't in my budget... Jeff and Larry are about as close to my budget as I've found, but unfortunately they are booked the weekend of my wedding. My dad is the treasurer of his local american legion post and he knows these two women who dj for him there on Friday nights who he says he can get me for like $300 for the whole night, but I don't know what their experience with weddings is and that makes me *really* nervous. My stepmom was supposed to be checking into a guy she knows who apparently teaches a course on how to be a dj at Unity College so I'm really hoping she comes through with that. This whole process is starting to stress me out more than the idea of not having a professional dj had been stressing me out.I haven't officially decided on favors, although my mom suggested a candy buffet and I love that idea. It just seems that it could potentially be a lot of work. She said she'd take care of the glassware and scoops though, so all I have to do is the fun part of buying the candy. :) I think I've pretty much decided against escort cards in favor of making a big framed sign with people's names and table numbers on it. My mom read somewhere that it's more "green". My guests will probably think it's a huge PITA to have to crowd around it to find out where they are sitting, but at this point those tiny little details are just not worth me losing sleep over. I ordered my dress really late, so it's not scheduled to be in until August 1st. I'm planning to go in and pay it off tomorrow and just see if it happens to have come in a few days early, but I assume if it had, they would have called me. I'm nervous about having enough time to get alterations done, but if it fits me the way the sample did, the only alterations it will need are having it hemmed a few inches and a bustle put in. Ok so this has turned into a novel again, but I can totally relate on all the little details there are to stress over. What a pain in the neck. I'm sure both our days will turn out beautiful in the end. :)
