portland bands?

we are looking for a fun band for our reception.  I know a DJ is cheaper, but it is the one thing we really want to splurge on.  We are rock people, but really we just want everyone to have fun and dance.  Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm not sure where they are actually located, but I've heard fabulous things about The Tony Boffa Band, The Coronados, and Sly Chi. HTH!

The Blue Willow Band is 1500 for six hours I believe http://www.bluewillowband.com/ The Tone Kings might play weddings. Phil Divinsky also plays in another band that does play weddings I think it is around 5000 phil@thetonekings.com Giraffe Attack also may play weddings. http://www.giraffeattack.com

I second the Tony Boffa Band.Unfortunately they were booked for our wedding day (which is probably better because then my dad would spend the whole time chatting with him).  So we booked The Waiters.  They do a lot of swing and various other kinds of dance music.  www.thewaiters.com

Sly Chi is fun. I am friends with some of them. Brian the lead singer is great.

We had the Bob Charest Band and they were amazing!!! One of the best things we splurged on, and our families are still talking about them!

I would love to have a band unfortunately its out of the budget however in my search I came across Wavelength and they played everything and seems really good!

My mom had the Tony Boffa Trio (NOW the Tony Boffa Band) back at her wedding 30 years ago!!  She said he was great then, and from the looks of other posts he still is! :-P
