Newbie!! Need advice! Snow Bowl

Okay, so I am from S. Indiana and my fiance is from Northern Maine.  We're getting married at Vesper Hill Children's Chapel.  Our reception is at the Snow Bowl.  We're not planning on doing a whole lot of decorations b/c the natural scenery of both are so pretty.  My ? is have any of u guys been there (I know awful that I haven't right?)?  FYI if you're looking for a cheap place these are the way to go!!!Also, below are the other peeps we're using we heard thru the grapevine that they're good but I was wondering if you guys had heard of any of them?Photographer-Riley PhotographyDJ-MusicMan

Yes, we used Brian from the Music Man. He did a great job at the reception - kept the dance floor going for the whole reception. And I was just at a wedding at the children's chapel. It's really small and rustic. My friend just had a few pomanders hanging from the rafters and a few small vases of flowers around the outside.

Riley Photographic is amazing. I've seen a lot of their work and love them. Also heard great reviews about The Music Man DJ service. I've been to the Vesper Hill Children's Chapel. If my guest list were small enough I would have loved to get married there, it's so lovely! I don't know much about the Snow Bowl... initially I thought you meant you were having a winter wedding and I was concerned since the Children's Chapel is pretty much wide open, your guests would freeze!!

We also used Brian from Music Man and couldn't have been happier.  He was my favorite vendor and I highly, highly recommend him! Oh - and welcome to the board!

I'm familiar with both places. Children's Chapel is beautiful. I went to one wedding there that was held in the chapel, but there were only 30 or so guests. The larger one I went to there took place in one of the gardens on the property and that was pretty too. There is someone in the area who rents his horse and buggy for weddings and you can arrive with him in that and then leave in it after the ceremony. The Snow Bowl is very rustic, but a fun place. Lots of area outside for kids to run around safely. It's a little tricky to find, so make sure you have really good directions printed up and signs to follow. There are excellent vendors in the midcoast area that I (and others) recommend. Alda Stich does gorgeous flowers at reasonable rates. The Samoset Resort does a great rehearsal dinner. From This Day Forward travels to you and do very soft natural makeup. Bonnie's A Cut Above will come to you too and I love her wedding hairstyles. There's someone who releases doves if you're interested. Sticky Fingers if the baker I would totally recommend for your cake. Tropical Nails is a great place for manis and pedis. Good luck and give a yell if you need more info.

Childrens chapel is an amazing place.  Not a lot of space in the chapel inself but the gardens would hold a large crowd.  The snow bowl isnt that big inside.  Its rustic for sure..  But you might want to rent tables and chairs.  All they have are long banquet style tables and bench seats..  Not much room when you have all those tables set up for dancing or anything else.  There is an outdoor porch that is covered over with a tent/awning.  Good luck and happy planning.

We do love the rustic look, so thats a relief!  Our guest list will probably run 50-75.  Do you think the snow bowl will be to crowded with a dance floor to?  We're going the week before to look at all these places so I hope it all turns out okay!
