Sam's Club flowers, other cheap flower options

Hey all,I noticed some others posting about flowers from Sam's Club. I was wondering if anyone had done this and what the results had been. According to their website, the flowers are shipped dry, so I'm just imagining a box of wilted and brown flowers arriving on the doorstep!Anyone recommend other inexpensive flower options? I haven't met with a florist yet, so I don't really know how much bouquets/boutonnieres typically cost. Thanks!

Yes, I also talked to the people at Sam's Club. They assured me that the dry flowers could easily be revived but I was just too scared to try it! To be budget conscious I decided to order arrangements for my own bouquet, boutineers, coursages, etc....but made my own table arrangements! This saved me a lot of money!!! Best of luck!!

Maybe I will just do a trial order of whatever they have that's cheapest and see how the flowers show up and if it's easy to bring them back to life!I'd like to have a florist do bouquets/boutonnieres but will probably do the centerpieces myself as well, since I think the bouquets are more important and I do not want to try making them myself! What florist did you use for yours?

my cousin did the flowers for both of my sisters' weddings and I think she got them at Sam's.  She is a creative nut and everything was BEAUTIFUL.  You need to order them a couple of days in advance in order for them to work.  Also, check and see if they have any sort of guarantee for freshness.

I ordered my table arrangement flowers from Sams, but I also did my bouquets and bouts through a florist. I ordered gerbera daisies and when they arrived, I just cut all the tips and put them in large Home Depot buckets with warm-ish water so the water will travel to the bloom more quickly. I had them delivered on Thursday and the wedding was Saturday and they were still beautiful. I cut them again when I made the arrangments because I used 4" cubes so they needed short stems, so I think that also helped keep them hydrated. Long story short...I would order from Sam's again! :) If you order a more delicate flower, you may want to have them delivered on Friday instead. Good luck!

jbleeman: Gerbera daisies are what I was looking to order as well! Sounds like they came out great! Did you keep them refrigerated at all to keep them cool, or just leave them out? jnthombles: Don't freak out! I don't really know a lot about it, just saw something on the website that said they were shipped not in water. But if you are picking them up that might be different. Definitely call the store and see what they have to say! Sounds like they would probably show up just fine anyways.

I kept them in my basement which was nice and cool. The only thing I'd mention is that they were a little smaller than I was thinking but they were still beautiful! I used 5 stems in a 4" vase. And you can't beat 80 stems for $70! For that price you can get tons to make your arrangements fuller! :) I'm going to try to post a link to a couple pictures of my flowers... http://tinyurl.com/ocswef

There are many websites that allow you to order flowers at wholesale prices. Wholesale basically means you are cutting out the middle man (i.e. the florist or the supermarket) and going directly to the source, cutting out all additional costs.. Wholesale flowers are typically fresher and have a bulk selection. Several wholesale sites are available on line. www.flowersgrowers.com www.growersbox.com www.freshroses.com www.flowerexchange.com www.bloomsbythebox.com
