Vegas!

So we're nixing the cruise idea because of little baby S.  Most major cruiselines don't recommend cruising after 5 months of pregnancy.  We still want to get away for our 1 yr anniversary.  I think we've decided that we're going to take a long weekend trip to Vegas!  I've never been but I hear that you can find some pretty amazing deals.  We need a destination that keeps us busy but also has pregnancy friendly activities. So, suggestions of places to stay, things to do, etc etc?

Bellagio - is a wonderful place to stay!  Very close to the forum shops!!  The gondolas at the Venitian hotel is fun!  Lake Meade and the Hoover Dam was my favorite part of my Vegas trip!!  I also saw "O" which was amazing!!  Freemont Street at night is cool!!

I stayed at the Paris which was great, I think most if not all of the big hotels/casinos on the strip are non smoking.  I'll type more once I leave work.  Even if you're not going to gamble, sign up for a free rewards card at the Paris, Caesars or the Flamingo (there are a few others) they give you a coupon book and it'll save you a lot on attractions/food, the one we got had a coupon for the Paris' breakfast buffet and admission to the Eifle Tower.

JealousE! I want to go. My good friend is staying at the Mirage. Since I've never been, I can't say anything about it, but she has good taste, so I'd imagine that it is a nice place.

I've been seeing crazy good deals for Vegas lately!  I went in November 2006 and we had a great time.  We also stayed at Paris, but most hotels on the Strip are awesome.  We hardly spent any time in the room...I actually felt like we kinda wasted money on staying at a nicer place.  One of my friends stays at TI a lot - they usually have great prices.  I would definitely plan on going to see a show or two!  We ate at some really great restaurants.  Two other thoughts - it was chilly in November, especially at night.  I guess I really expected it to be warm there, haha.  And we did so much freaking walking.  Comfortable shoes - especially if you will be 5 months - are a must!

It's been several years since I went to Vegas, but I second going to Hoover Dam.  It was amazing to see the Dam!  They are building a bridge there.Red Rock Canyon is not too far from Vegas - and has some stunning scenery:http://www.redrock.org/I highly recommend Cirque de Soleil, too!

Make sure you allot yourself enough time with flying, we got there early in the morning (I think around 9 or 10) but our first day was pretty much us walking around in a haze from lack of sleep.  I've heard good things about Bally's too, it's not as expensive as Paris, Caesar's, and Bellagio but it's right next door, or across the street from those hotels.  If you like Chinese food, Chinois in Caesar's is really good, it's a Wolfgang Puck restaurant and it's really reasonable as far as price. We're more than likely going back to Vegas in March to watch a basketball tournament, so I'm doing my research now so we get a good deal!

Oh so fun!!! We went in April and it was a blast. We stayed at NY NY. It was nice. We had fun just walking around and going into different hotels, watching the fountain show, going to the old vegas and seeing the light show. There is so much to do. You'll have so much fun.

I want to go too!  I've been dying to go back to Vegas because I had such a short stay when I was there.  My family always stays at the Luxor.  My mom recommends the Thunder from Down Under show, but I'll bet your DH wouldn't care for that.  :)

I'm JEALOUS!  I've never been there, but would love to go someday.  My cousin works at TAO, and I know alot of celebs go there, so that might be fun.  Someone mentioned Cirque Du Soliel, and I agree even though I've never seen the Vegas one.  I saw it in Orlando and Toronto, both were amazing.  I'm sure the Vegas one would be awesome!

Love Vegas!  Dying to go back.  You have to see any of the cirque de soliel (sp?) shows.  We saw Ka and it was amazing.  Also the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam aren't too far if you are looking for things to do.  We've stayed at Caesar's and Stratosphere.  Caesar's is nice but a little pricey.  We actually really enjoyed Stratosphere, it's at the top of the strip so it isn't majorly crowded...it's the closest big hotel to Freemont street, and it was a greta value.  Look on vegas dot com.  They have flights leaving pittsburgh to vegas plus hotel for liek 350 a person for 4 days/3 nights right now. It's a cheap way to get a flight.  Also I beleive if you book now for three or more night you get a free excursion/trip to the Hoover Dam, might be fun!

I am clearly (see pic below) a Vegas lover!!!  Bellagio is a must.  It's a babymoon and an anniversary trip all in one, you need to pamper yourself!  We also did the hoover dam.  It's a bit of a drive (we rented a car) but very worth it.  We actually got to drive over it, and DF engineer that he is, repeated the entire history.  lol. Also, best vegas style show to see is Jubilee (imho)!  The costumes were AMAZING!!!  The headpieces, oh goodness.  I want to go back!  Emeril's restaurant was pretty awesome too.

We stayed in the New York, New York a few years back over spring break (holy crap, it was actually 2001 - 8 years ago, OMG). Ehh, it was okay, not great. However, I wanted to chime in that we walked all over the place. I remember the aquarium at the Mandalay Bay was really nice, and we enjoyed the wax museum at the Venetian. Didn't get to see the water fountain show at the Bellagio, because the winds were up too high :(
