September girls!

Can you believe how close our days are getting? I know Sept. 12th-13th is the most popular wedding weekend we've had this year. How is everyone else doing??I finally got my dress! I'm even more in love with it than I was when I first tried on the sample at the store! I had my first fitting on Sunday and it fits perfectly, just needs a hem and a bustle. My seamstress is amazing too, if anyone is looking for someone in the Central Maine area, I have a great recommendation! My bachelorette party is this weekend, my bridesmaids and I are going to Foxwoods. Should be a good time. :)So now on my check list I still have to figure out what to do about a guest book, decide if I'm making ceremony programs and actually make them if I decide I want to, have our 2nd meeting with our officiant, see if my bridesmaids are willing to sing at the ceremony and if they and my guitarist can learn the song I'd like them to sing, buy matching ties for the GMs, shop for wine and champagne, decide if we're having a signature drink, get the marriage license, and do a few "sun dances" to ensure that the weather that day is just like today!! Actually there's about a thousand other tiny little details but I started to get anxiety just listing off those things so I stopped. How about everyone else??

I know it is so crazy to think we only have 17 more days! I had someone at the office ask me today, "So what are you going to do when the wedding is all over and you don't have any more planning to do?" It is crazy but true, I really think I am going to miss it!On my check list I still need to do one more dress fitting early next week. We need to choose our reception intro song. We need to print and put together the programs. Put the finishing touches on the parents & groomsmen gifts. I need to write my vows,( FI had the idea of doing our own, his are done, mine, not so much!) Other than that we just need to put the logistics in place of the day of. Very exciting! :)

I'm going to regret this, because I'll feel like I'm losing my mind even more than I already do, but:I finally finished my photo guestbook and got it ordered on Snapfish; my mom changed my seating arrangements, so I have to reprint that list and post it on the foam board and then trim the pages with ribbon; I have to assemble all the centerpieces and take a photo so the venue knows how to set them up (they're all different); I have to get all the information to the venue so they can set up the tables appropriately; I have to get the gift certificates for both sets of parents; pick up the wine ceremony goblets and 2-handled cup from the potter who's making them for us; I have to pick up the wine we're going to drink for the ceremony; I have to get the memorial photos finished; print up and assemble the programs; burn the CD favours and make up the inserts for the cases; tie ribbons on the bubbles; tie ribbons on the Lindt truffle favours (CDs are for each group, the chocolates are for each guest); I have to revamp the ring-bearer's pillow (recycling a friend's but her colours are all wrong); make the fake flower headdress for my junior flower-girl; bring the tulle to the florist and pay her; get a photo of the ideal spot for our location and get the photo to the florist and the DJ so they know where to set up the day of; make the valet parking tags for the bridal party's cars so they don't have to pay for parking on the day of; WRITE MY VOWS!....And I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. Angeliza, I'm SO glad you love your dress! Don't you want to go EVERYWHERE in it? I do!

I do want to wear my dress everywhere!!! Several of my girlfriends and I were talking about having a big party sometime in the next year or so and make it "wedding" themed so people can dress up as brides and grooms or bridesmaids or whatever just so it would give us a chance to wear our wedding dresses again! So I have a lot of things that can't be done until just a few days before the wedding, like assembling centerpieces (we're doing that the Thursday before) and buying the favors (homemade donuts, have to be bought the actual day of the wedding) but right now I do need to figure out all the other things I listed in my original post. Also I have to get in touch with my dj. I went to my cousins wedding 2 weeks ago and the dj was AWFUL. My dad found (and is paying for) this guy for me (originally I wasn't even going to have a dj). Apparently he teaches dj-ing at Unity college so hopefully he's decent, but having never met him or seen him or even know his last name so I can find reviews of him, I'm going to be making a very strict playlist and insisting that he not play anything that hasn't been pre-approved by me.
