Pemaquid Point Lighthouse!

Ok so here I am back to the drawing board for like the 8th time on where to have our wedding. I really want to have our ceremony at the Pemaquid Light house. Now heres my questions.Has anyone had a wedding here? Any suggestions do you have pictures you'd like to share I can't find any to see what a wedding set up would be there.Does anyone know of any close by (like not outside of New Harbor, Round Pond, Pemaquid) area that we can host our reception preferably oceanfront.... other than the Bradley Inn or Sumaria?I've come across a few places and found two homes for rent one in Pemaquid and one in South Bristol (a little to far) just waiting for people to get back to me with more info. I'm up for any ideas

I have seen pictures of smaller weddings at Pemaquid Point. I'll see if I can dig them up. I think it would be a great location for a wedding. I don't have any reception location recommendations though--sorry!

I thought you had booked the Sumaria! What happened? Unfortunately I can't help with the oceanfront reception venue, my friend got married at Darrow's Barn in Damariscotta which was right on the river and gorgeous in my opinion, but probably not exactly what you're looking for. One thing to keep in mind is that your wedding guests will have to pay for entrance into Pemaquid park, we went there to take pictures after the wedding I was in over Memorial Day weekend and wasn't expecting to have to pay to get in so I didn't have ANY cash. I had to pull over to the side until someone else in the bridal party arrived to lend me some money. You can probably make arrangements for this before hand, but the gatekeeper the day I was there didn't seem very accommodating. I know this doesn't really answer your questions, I just thought I'd give you the heads up. Best of luck, I hope someone else on the board has some better information for you!

It appears there is a restaurant in New Harbor called The Contented Sole where you could have a reception. Unfortunately their website doesn't appear to be working and I have no info on whether it is oceanfront or how many people it could accommodate. Might be worth a bit of research though!

Thanks ladies..... I think I have found a private property rental right near the light house overlooking the ocean YAY! which is exactally what I want.The lighthouse charges $300 for up to 125 people to hold ur ceremony and that includes their admission and our ceremony for up to 2 hours... I thought that was pretty good.The contended sole I have been to... for drinks and they are cute a little rustic but I think they do weddings strictly in connection with Bradley Inn. It does sit on the ocean though and its a beautfiul view!Keep fingers crossed this home works out..... but i'm still open to suggestions!O yes Sumaria is not completely out of the question but the cost to rent is just ridiculous which is really throwing the budget off. I like the caterer and her prices are pretty good but to rent the place is getting out of control!
