hair and makeup?

Hello ladies --Just wondering who you all are using for wedding day hair and/or makeup in the greater Portland area.  An upscale salon/spa is not in my budget... and I'm wondering if you know any body that is good and relatively inexpensive.  Thanks a bunch!

I had the same issues.  I found a very small, privately owned salon for my hair - no crazy mark-up for "bridal" updos.  I went with Davina's Design in Westbrook, but there are obviously endless options for salons like that everywhere.  I ended up doing my own makeup.  I searched and searched and searched for good, affordable, professional options, and found none.  I couldn't justify $75+ for makeup.  That's absolutely insane to me.  My sister had a great basic kit from Bare Essentuals, and I practiced it a few times.  All through my planning, I thought I wouldn't want to do my own makeup.  I just didn't want one more thing to worry about, but I started it early in the day and wasn't stressed at all.  Someone had mentioned the idea of going to a makeup counter at the mall(reportedly free), but I wanted to be sure I'd like it, instead of taking such a big chance that morning.
