Bridesmaids Dresses

Where did everyone get theirs?

I have girls all over the country, some in rural areas... so its a bit tough for us. David'sBridal is an option, especially for the girls who might need to online order....but I was trying to stay away from them. Bad personal experience in multiple stores...

So any suggestion are welcome!

I did DB, so I'm maybe no help. I know J Crew has a lot of cute ones, and would allow girls to order from anywhere. You could also find a style you like on Macy's or a store like that and send the girls the link so they could order it. But they wouldn't be able to try on that way.

For what it's worth, I've had zero problems with DB. I have two out-of-state girls who went to DB locations near them and didn't have a problem (okay, actually, one girl did go to get her dress since they said it was in but they couldn't find it, so she had to go back). But I've dealt with the one here in Maine a lot and have had only positive experiences. Just my two cents!

I got mine from Ann Taylor - the girls ordered them online - I have bridesmaids in Maine, New York, and California.  They can have them altered as needed for a better fit anyway.  They were $150 each.

DB is good and affordable, too.  I also recommend macys.com or nordstrom.com for styles.  Good luck!

I am in the same situation where my bridesmaids are spread out across New England, getting everyone together on the same day to do dress shopping will be a feat!  I'm planning on going to David's Bridal - it's cheap and yet you can find a decent dress.  All of the girls have different builds so my plan is to say here is the color find a dress that you like rather than have everyone try agree on the same dress and have it look good on all of them.  This way there's a David's pretty much every where so the girls should be able to find the dress if we are not able to find a day that works for everyone!

    Hey JLD,
I wanted to stay away from DB, but couldn't.  One postive, they do coordinate with Men's Warehouse (for the Tuxes).

I had a bridesmaids dress from JCrew which was nice, but $$.

David's has a really nice selection. but remember not all dresses come in all colors. My only issue with them was, silly me, bm dress shopping during prom season. what a nightmare. But other wise I really cant complain.

I'm going shopping in MA with my bridesmaids at the J. Crew in Boston next weekend. I've found their dresses to be fairly affordable compared to some, and they generally don't need altering or special ordering since they are ready-to-wear. The last wedding I was in, I paid about $250 total ($175 before alterations). When you take that into account, plus the fact that the dresses are so pretty that they can wear them again, it's really not that pricey.
