Rent an ice cream truck?

Hi ladies -
Chrispy's post got my brain going about a "late night" snack.  I put late night in quotes since our reception is from 2-7p, haha.
Does anyone know if you can rent or hire an ice cream truck; or at least ask them to be at a certain place at a certain time?  July 23rd is the day the ice cream cone was "invented" in the US (although it can be argued it's been around longer than that in the middle east) and I thought it would be neat to have an ice cream truck come to the wedding near the end of the reception, rather than having a traditional cutting of the cake.
And yes - I did try googling the info but couldn't come up with anything conclusive.  I was hoping someone might know someone or have a tip, or talk me off this ledge.  Thanks in advance!!

I don't have any hard info, but I've been to events where they've had a rented truck. So it's got to be possible. I also think this sounds like a super fun idea! I think it would be very memorable!

OMG I would totally looooooooooove the ice cream truck!  Ice cream is my "thing" and I really wanted to do this, but it's pretty hard to have someone come at 11pm.  haha.  I think it would be a fabulous thing for your guests! If you can't find a truck I would try calling local ice cream shops and seeing who can come and scoop cones for you.  They probably just need a table or a small set up.  They can stick the ice cream in a cooler and it will stay frozen for a while.  mmmm....  Love it!

Stop the next ice cream truck you see, buy an ice cream & ask him :) haha I'm pretty sure they are individually rented so the person in the drunk pays for the truck but buys the ice cream & keeps the profits.  So if you ask a specific person they'll probably have more information.  And that's probably why you can't find anything online!! LOVE THE IDEA!

Thanks for the advice ladies!  Jena, my FI had the same kind of reaction when I brought up the idea to him, haha.  So we're skipping the truck idea but he's still open to ice cream.

FI is a teacher and the student council advisor so he knows a few of the more mature students that would be OK coming to the wedding to scoop - they wouldn't be guests, they'd show up near the end to help serve.  We'd probably buy ice cream from a yummy local place (Shaker Pond) to keep with our local theme.  FI said he'd think about it; I want us to make the final decision by the end of the week regarding cake vs. ice cream so we can get one more detail nailed down.

    Thanks again!!
