Guest List Politics...

Just sat down to write the guest list for our September wedding and I've run into a snag. How do I choose who to invite? 

Do I risk hurting feelings by inviting only the family members I'm close to (in an effort to cut expenses and create a more intimate wedding)? 

Or do I invite everyone and their brother so I don't hurt feelings (but consequently end up spending more)? 

What is the correct answer here?

I agree with hcorrigan that there is no correct answer.

And while this may not be very helpful, putting together a guest list was one of the hardest parts about planning a wedding. Inevitably, people are going to get left off.

You just have to make the decision that works best for you. Just remember that ultimately, this day is about celebrating the love that you and your FI have. My advice is to go with people you want to have there to celebrate with you.
