I really dont want to go to Davids bridal to have the minor alterations that i need done. all i need is my dress bustled. any one know any good seamstresses or am i stuck with davids?

    I don't know where in ME you are, but I am having mine done at Andrea's Bridal in Rochester, NH by Cathy.  They have two seamstresses there.  The quote that Cathy gave me was much less than I expected.  I have a lot that needs to be done too!

    I felt the same way at first - all I need is a 2-hook bustle.  But I decided to go with Davids because it's only $35 and it's a lower-stress option for me.  Plus, Davids always presses the dress for free if you buy it there.  I'm not sure it that is included everywhere else.

    Sarah Michniewicz in Portland at the time and Temp building 879-7397, she is the only person I would ever trust with my wedding dress and she does gorgeous custom bustles!!!

    I tried to get time with Sarah Michniewicz to alter my dress but she is booked through September. I would recommend Marie Antionetta on Free Street. She also has a studio in Gorham maine (207) 839-5440‎.

    Hey, new here.  I have a wonderful woman in Westbrook doing my alterations.  She has done many alterations for my family in the past and everything turns out great!

    I did my alterations at David's (bustle, hem and strap shortened) and had a great experience. Not sure how prices compare with other places, though. And you didn't mention it, but David's will only do alterations on dresses purchased there.
