I might be losing my mind a little bit...

...but I don't really care!  Ha!

I find the closer I am getting to the wedding the less "cheap" I am being.  This may be bad news folks.  Bad, bad news. lol.  Just last week I orderd 350 votive candles and splurged on the 15 hour ones so I wouldn't stress that they would run out on me.  I also placed a fairly decent order with Save on Crafts for orchid garland on clear wire so I can have a "wall" of flowers at my ceremony.  I could have made those myself but nope, I just wanted to check it off my list.  And today I just ordered personalized matches, cocktail napkins and guest towels from For Your Party.  I've known without a doubt that I wanted to do disposable guest towels all along (they are SO cute too - ivory with Mr & Mrs Smith, est 09.04.11 embossed on the bottom) but I could have forgone the napkins and the matches (although we are having cigars so I felt like we needed matches).  Maybe it's the weather, but I am a shopping fool this week.  Seems surreal that I actually do need to start getting all this stuff organized too!  It's exciting, but scary at the same time!

P.S.  My real last name is going to be Smith too.  I have a long, very italian last name and when I was little I used to always say I just wanted to be a Jones or a Smith.  I'm getting my wish I suppose!  :)

We will be buying our favors in the near future (jars of jam from The Good Kettle), and I have to get stuff for our welcome bags, which I think will lead to similar shopping sprees (100 pouches of hazlenut chocolate spread?  totally necessary).

And that's sweet about your last name.  One of the reasons I am not taking FI's name is that my name is easy peasy and his is more complicated.

oh my gosh! this is nuts but when i was little i hated that they always alphabitzed everyone in line and i was at the end of the alphabet. it was my dream (okay want) to marry someone with a last name who was higher in the alphabet. i'm going from a p to an e!!!

    so i feel you.

I feel the same - lots of shopping this week. Also lots of "Plato needs to decompress and look pretty" purchases, such as my first pair of fake lashes, a facial/massage (and lots more face products to boot), foot treatment, etc. If I were spending for the wedding, I think I might be slightly less guilty. ;) It's been a bad, long week though.

Now I want to go buy matches! I've thought about that. I like getting matches from restaurants, so why not from my own wedding? lol.

Cgal - what style of matches did you get? Book or box?

Happy for you that your name wish came true! FI's name is not bad and higher up in the alphabet. I liked being in the middle of the alphabet though...no matter what, you knew you weren't going first, not going last, and often got an advantage by being in the middle. :)

Congrats on all the checks!  I think we all have those weeks where we just don't care about the cost as long as its done.  You'll have to post pics of the personlized things you got!

I promise I will post pics of all my projects and purchases as soon as I can get my act together enough to pull them out, take the pictures, and then upload.  lol.  But I think it will be soon because I'm starting to really feel like my vision is coming together so I'm excited!

Plato, I ordered tringle boxes so there is writing on two sides.  One side says "A Perfect Match!" and the other is our names and dates.  They ended up being $1 each and will be in chocolate stardust paper with gold writing.  The more traditional white matchbook was much cheaper, but it didn't really have the look I wanted and I didn't think they'd work for cigars.  That and the fact that my attitude has been "an extra $40?, no problem".  This could get dangerous.  lol

I think it's the weather!  I've been internet shopping like a fiend the last couple weeks.  Groupons, eBay, Mixbook, Eversave (I got one to PeggyBank.com, so I've also been putting photos in chronological order), two orders through Vistaprint, two trips to both Marhsalls and TJMaxx, and I bought four bottles of nail polish today.

On a related note, I must be missing the girly-nail-painting gene, because I am seriously bad at it.

I can't paint my nails to save my life, so don't feel bad.  It's more like painting the whole fingertip - skin and all.  lol!
