Mt. Desert Island

I am from out of state and would like to get married somewhere on the island in Sept. 2011.  I am thinking somewhere outside, on or near the water.  Any suggestions??

    Anywhere in Acadia national park is beautiful.. also check out College of the Atlantic, they can hold a ceremony there, not reception, but its on the water. The azalea gardens.. (not sure what they are called exactly, but i think it is part of the national park as well) are also beautiful and on a quieter side of the island. 

    Call or go online to the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce.. they will send you a whole wedding info packet filled with places to check out!

    LaughingIf you are looking for a restaurant - check out the Chart Room - not sure if they do weddings but its on the water and the food is wonderful. I am getting married next september in that area and that is where I really would like to have my dinner.
    Good Luck. I am also an out of stater - living in Florida and planning my wedding for Maine.   :)
