DIY projects??

So as i've been lurking around it seems like alot of you have already started doing your DIY projects! I was thinking that its really early to start.. but I think im the only one that hasnt started any DIY... 

What are you ladies DIY'ing / timeline for projects? 

Some things im doing are: 

-A Personalized mailbox for our cards

-Table number picture frames

-Getting stuff to have my co-worker create our wedding tree guesbook

-Starting our candy candy bar

-and probably a bunch of unmentionalble things.. unmentionable cuz I havent realized them yet. haha

I haven't started on too much but I do have most of my supplies.

-Table Number Picture Frames - I have the frames, designed the numbers on photoshop, and bought card stock. I still need to print them off and paint the frames. Waiting on the paint because I don't want it to get scuffed in storage.
-Votives - I'm going to paint some of our votives, again waiting on those though because I don't want them to get scuffed in storage.
-Envelope Liners - Have most of them done.
-Programs - Created them in word and printed a few mockups. I also have the cardstock but I'll probably wait until closer to print them all out in case we want to change anything.
-Placecards- I have all of the wine corks to hold them and bought a die cut puncher to cut out the actual placecards. Haven't started on them at all though.
-Altar-FI is going to build an altar for us. I've showed him pictures but we haven't gotten any of the wood, curtains, or the chandelier that we need for it yet.
-BM Bouquets-I bought ribbon in the same material/color as their dresses, we'll use that to tie together baby's breath bouquets the day before the wedding.
-Card Box- Have the boxes, FI is going to make the cuts in them and secure them together.

I think that covers everything! I'm trying to spread everything across the remaining months so that I don't get bored and start creating more projects for myself lol

I started doing my DIY long ago, since I don't want added stress the closer we get.
We're not doing as much DIY as I originally thought we would, but here are some of the projects:

Welcome bags (Which is a huge project on its own. lol.)
Table numbers
Manzanita escort card table tree
Chair Covers
Might add ribbon to the invites (might not. Haven't decided.)

There might be one or two more things, but I can't think of them!

hmm! wow.. 

I just started scouring etsy for some things I need, and went to ikea earlier to price the picture frams for our tables.. Just a heads up, they have 5x7 frames for 1.99ea. 

I keep telling FI that We needa start getting stuff, but he just keeps telling me theres no space.. I guess Ill start on my own after in the next week or two.. 

is it necessary to do a place card set up? I saw this thing on pintrest ( http://www.stylemepretty.com/gallery/picture/818596 ) and maybe ill just stick a name card at a seat? would that work out? or are guests supposed to pick their own seat. Or can I do that thing and just put the table?

i've never been to a wedding where i picked my own seat! that could get very difficult because people would leave one spot at a table and a couple would have to sit apart! making a seating chart is definitely a good idea! that one on pinterest is really cute!!

@thekorsans thanks! Is it okay if they can pick their own seat at the designated table? I've been to like one wedding when I was 15, so i dont remember much

Seating Arrangement "poster" if we decide to do assigned seating

Welcome Bags for OOT guests

"photobooth" backsdrop

I've started on:

- Hair flower

- Reception decor (I'm doing mason jars with candles in them)

- Invitations

I'm still going to do:

- Card box

- Seating chart

- Cupcakes

- Possibly programs

- Possibly a candy bar

Also, crysspears - I've only been to 1 wedding where my seat was chosen for me (and I've been to multiple weddings)! Usually there's just been a chart like the one you linked to on Pinterest and then you sit wherever you want at the table. I've never encountered a situation where couples ended up sitting apart or something - most people account for that when they sit down I think (at least, I do). Suffice to say, I'll just be making a chart and letting people choose their own seats at their assigned table.
