Does anyone know...

if there is a general ratio of guests invited to guests who actually show up?  We've just started guest list talks and can't figure out how many people we should invite if our venue max is 270.Thanks!

Don't invite more than your max.  You could have 50% come, or you could have 100% plus a few uninviteds.  You never know.If you really have to, have a 'B' list.

It probably depends on how many of your guests are OOT or not.  We invited over 300 and had 175 at the reception.  About 90 of our invites lived 7 hours away.

This is something that is so hard to predict...I wouldn't invite more than 270.  :/FWIW, we invited 300 and had about 215 at the wedding...about 50 percent of out guest list was OOT and we got married on a holiday weekend.

Hmmm, ok.  Most of the people our parents will be inviting live within driving distance but practically none of our friends do.  Thanks, ladies!

Totally depends on your Guest List. Mine is 90% OOT. We invited 174 and are expecting 106. When we first looked at the list, we were able to guess on many that would be Nos and had estimated that we would get around 120 Yes's. We were only off by a teeny bit in our calculations.

Ditto everyone else. Depends on your own guest list. We had seating capacity for 200 and invited 267. But, we knew that 1/2 of our list was from OOT and a lot of those wouldn't drive in from Philly. We also were right around H.S. and College graduation, so we lost a lot of guests to family parties (grandkids and such). And, a lot of family that we invited with kids decided that they wanted a night out on their own, w/o their kids, so we lost kids from the list. We ended up with 126, 4 of which didn't show (last minute emergencies - no prob). So, out of our 267, we had 122. But, I think ours was a little extreme!

I asked a invitation crazy lady this once and she gave me these numbers: 15 to 20% will RSVP no and 2% will RSVP and then come anyway. Thats bullsh!t tho, it all really depends on your guest list, like pp said.

Ok, it sounds like we'll have to look at our own guest list closely and figure it out from there.  Thank you!
